| Have you been working out? If you have been increasing your muscle mass, then your measurements would increase. |

| I swear that I gained some inches when I added back in some more carbs. Not because I am gaining weight/fat...I think it is due to the water retention that carbs induce. Anyone else have any input or theory on this one? |

| It could be a number of things, including.... 1. Too much salt. Sometimes when we add carbs back, we add salty foods or add more salt to our diet. The trick about OWL that the only thing that changes from Induction is the addition of 5 net carbs of foods. Some people take that to mean they can increase their fat consumption and protein consumption as well...Nope, fat and protein amounts stay the same or decrease slightly as you become a smaller person who doesn't require as many calories as your larer self needed. 2. Body remodeling like ronnie mentioned. Just be sure that you are measuring your foods properly. Don't "estimate", until you are comfortable with what 5 net carbs of a certain food is. Also use the Blood Sugar Symptom Test in Chapter 13 as a guide. It is a more immediate indicator of food/carb level effects than waiting until measure-weigh day.

| Thanks for your thoughts. One thing I thought of later too, since the area most dramatically affected was my chest and bust measurements, is that I'm only a month done breast feeding, and haven't had a TOM yet, and I don't know if that stuff takes some time to even out. Quite possibly could be salt, I tend to do a lot of ham and smoked turkey when life is this stressful and I have to be quick. I THINK I'm OK on measuring carbs, I kept it really simple. Meg, I did read the book when I started before getting pg, but don't currently have a copy. Is there a link to the Blood Sugar Sytmpom test you mention, or could you let me know the gist (if you check this thresd again |

| Ahh.. well if you've just finished breast feeding your bod is doing some hormonal adjustments. So I wouldn't worry too much at this point (Time to get depressed is in a situation like mine. I've lost weight everywhere but the bust area. So while I'm getting smaller, my bust looks like it's getting larger---makes buying clothing really difficult. gah!) There's no link to the test. I don't think it was ever copied onto the Atkins.com site. So have to get a hold of the book for it.
