| Used2be - have you read the OWL rules on how to add your 5 net carbs in the edition of DANDR we follow here (2002 edition) Oats and apples are not on the first level (rung) of OWL so dont get added till later on if you want to do it 'by the book' If you dont have the book handy then take a look at the stickies at the top of this forum for some hints and tips. this one details the order in which we are supposed to add our 5 net carbs The OWL Carbohydrate Ladder and this is a useful thread about how to find your CCLL How to Find Your CCLL.

| What way of eating are you doing? That doesn't sound like Atkins. I am not trying to be rude, I just didn't really understand that post. Sorry!

| thanks very much Elizellen, I read the link you urged me to read......and now I see my errors!!!!! Still, I really am eating as I should be and my water intake is good plus I take plenty green tea with saccarine (1) .... and many other infusions. Oh, Sunflowergirl, you don't need to apologise for not understanding what I am doing, luckily I DO UNDERSTAND what I am doing and I have seen the documentary on Atkins, and read the whole book, ok I made a mistake regarding a few things --- but Boy am I losing weight suddenly............so am very pleased with myself and this new way of life! Because sb . doesn't go completely by the book does not, necessarily a sign of failure...... I was extremely strict with myself during induction , albeit extended one month actually. Just was confused about the owl phase. I don't really care if you understand me or not, I know what I'm doing. Remember we all have a right to express ourselves as we wish, as long as we are not being discourteous, and I am a slightly artistically inclined person, so my way of expressing myself is perhaps not so coherent as you would wish........ anyhow, thanks for your replies - much appreciated. |

| Well, you did ask for help, so I don't think I did anything wrong by wanting to understand your post. If you don't want someone to comment on your 'style' of Atkins, I don't think posting a question is the way to go about it. I think that last post was a bit rude, and kind of hurt my feelings. I won't reply to anymore of your posts as to not offend you since we seem to have different views on Atkins. Again, I do not want to offend anyone but I also don't want myself to be offended.

| I just wanted to emphasise that I was undergoing certain difficulties during extended induction - I did a clean first 2wk induction and decided to carry on a bit more. I admit I was mistaken about the porridge oats (!!) and ElizEllen kindly put me straight about that ...... I have had a lot of ketosis symptoms and am now ready for the owl phase ....... Perhaps you read my directness as being rude - I do not intend to hurt any1's feelings but you were not reading between the lines in my post------ doesn't matter , and of course do not reply to my posts if you don't want to, I don't mind at all. thank you, |

| Wow, these came across as rude to me, too. I re-read, hoping I could figure a way that they wouldn't seem rude, but I didn't succeed. Were you asking for help in this post or just chatting? Maybe that's part of the confusion?
