You could try working off that emotional energy by taking a walk or punching a punching bag. I had a friend who used to go outside and start digging a new flower bed in the garden whenever she and her husband had fights. (By the way, she had a beautiful garden!) If physical activity is too, well, physical, try doing something else, like talking to a friend or a relative OR come here and post your troubles in the Women's Forum. If you've done this and it still doesn't work for that particular stress and you're about to hop in your car and buy a 5 gallon bucket of ice cream. Sit down. Take a big breath. And spend 5 minutes writing out what you are feeling and what will make you feel better in the long run.
