Default OWL/Exercise question--2big or not2late Help! LOL

I started the fruit rung this week. I've had a small nectarine twice this week. It didn't cause any cravings....all seems fine.

I've gone through the dairy rung (and since eating low carb yogurt with NO problems--cravings or weight gain--have had successful losses). I've added legumes (chick peas and kidney beans on my salad) with no problems there either. I also added during my legumes rung Low Carb Tortillas made from soy flour with no problems.

This week I was back to heavy exercise (Body For Life program) and I know that I'll have fluid retention. This week I also had TOM (started Monday) and I kept slowly going down both Monday and Tuesday (to 212 lbs). Wednesday I was back up to 214, Thursday 215, and today 216 (TOM is gone now)!!

Sooooo, here is my question. How do I know if it's the foods I'm eating...or if it really is the weight lifting that's causing this. Do I continue with the food and the lifting...drop one or the other? I need some advice on how someone with some experience would handle it.

grab your DANDR and check to see if you have any of the blood sugar symptoms listed in chapter 12. if not then the tangerines are not effecting you and you will have to see if you have exceeded your CCLL which if it was just the 5 you are currently adding from your last add shouldn't cause weight gain that fast.

if you are worried cut back your carbs 5 net and see what happens. if weight loss resumes then add the 5 back and see if you agtain stop losing and you now know your current CCLL based on your current life style. eat below it and you will keep shedding fat.

I just did that test, and I'm only like a 12 total. It says 50 or more is positive for blood sugar instability, so that's not it.

This week, even with the fruit, I've not exceed 30 grams of carbohydrate. I've had weeks before that I've gone higher than that and continued to lose.

It's almost got to be the exercise...How long do you think that my body could hold onto the fluid to repair the muscles??

I'm going to go ahead and re-read the OWL chapter tonight.

it isn't to repair the muscles if you upped your exercise they think youare being attacked in in a death struggle to work them so hard so because of our wonderful survival genetics they are happly laying in stores for the next attack. Once they learn this new load you put them under is the new permanent load they will release the extra stored fluids ( called superhydrating) and you will get a whooshie visit.

How long it take them to learn is entirely up to your genes. some folk hold for a week others for longer.

Joy, your timing is just right. I don't have lots of experience with this type question, but last weekend I started a new strength training routine, went up 2 lbs right away, and kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and finally 7 days later got a 1.5 lb loss overnight. Mine coincided w/TOM inadvertantly too. I'm still up .5 from last week, but between those two, plus the 100% humidity all of a sudden, I'm not stressing over it.

When will we learn to stay off the d%(*n scale???

You are GORGEOUS in that shimmery top BTW, can't wait to see your next pic!

2big, I've been faithful with the tape measure, but as opposed to the scale, I don't use it every day. As a matter of fact, I didn't weigh this morning, because I didn't want to get disgusted. We'll see how this all pans out by tuesday, which is weigh day.

Here's hope then...1.5 lbs more overnight last night. So now down 1 lb from when I started the new drill 10 days ago. Can't wait to see your Tuesday results!!!

Ok, I guess my panic attack a few days ago was for nothing. This morning I'm back down to 213.4. It's not the 212.6 that i was down to, but close enough. I lost 1/2" (in my bust, of course ).

Glad it was just a temporary aberation in your mass. Oh and insteat of thinking of it as your bust think of it as the fat on your back or under your arms at that body posisiton so you won't be crediting all the inches lost there to your gals.
