Default Ketosis- At the ccll/cclm threshold

Just one question left...

if you go above your CCLL and either gain or maintain for a week or so... then do you need to go back to induction eating to restart the losing again? Or just back down to the level you last lost weight at???

Dr. Atkins picked 20 carbs or less because most people will lose at this level. Being at 23 carbs does not make you "out of ketosis" necessarily. TRUE or FALSE?
Depends on you, but for almost everyone- true.

If I am losing weight each week, then I am still in ketosis. TRUE or FALSE?
Again- neither true nor false. You do not have to be in ketosis to lose weight just like you can be in ketosis and gain weight.

When I get to my CCLL then the week after, when I increase my carbs, I will go out of ketosis and maintain or gain weight. TRUE or FALSE?
Again- neither true or false. You can bump yourself out of ketosis and still not be at your CCLL. In other words, you can increase your carbs to a point that bumps you out of ketosis but still allows you to lose.

Then the week after I will reduce my carbs back down to the previous week's carb limit where I was losing *my CCLL*. I will not have to go back to 20 to restart "losing." TRUE or FALSE?
True.

Quote:
When I find my CCLM then I will be out of ketosis but taking in few enough carbs that I will not gain weight. I will only lose weight when I am in ketosis returning to my CCLL. TRUE or FALSE?
When you find your CCLM- Yes. You have it right. Again, you lose weight when you drop down to your CCLL. Whether or not that puts you in ketosis is entirely up to your own individual self.

Some people have to stay below 30 grams a day to lose. I'm not one of them. I can eat upwards of 60 grams a day and still lose- slowly- but I still lose. Maintenance for me is around 90-100 grams a day. Dropping low enough to stay in ketosis is helpful for getting the weight off and keeping my appetite in control - but it's not necessary for weight loss.

Thanks for clarifying this... I think I'm not fully understanding ketosis. Do plan to dig the book out and reread this weekend when I have time off again on Fri night. But I don't know how well all this was addressed and I know I wasn't as concerned with the logistics of OWL when I was just working on managing my induction menus. Thanks for any insight guys!
It's really easy to make this harder than it is, so don't! Climb up by 5 grams a week (I did/do it bi-weekly) just like you're supposed to. When you slow down to a crawl, back up. When you're close to goal, start upping them again to find out how many you can eat and 'get away' with before gaining.

You just drop down to the previous week's levels. No need to backtrack farther than that.
