Default Question about climbing the ladder

Ok, Guys. I started climbing up a couple of months ago. Rung 1 was fine. Rung 2...well the only thing on that list that I was even remotely interested in was cottage cheese. Had it a few times just because I could. A few weeks later moved to rung 3. I don't like nuts but I do like peanut butter. Bought some natural, no sugar added. I had a tablespoon now and then but not often. Everything seems fine. But on most days I find myself eating like I did on inductioon. I think when I decide to move to rung 4 I might eat the yogurt so I can add berries to it but for now I'm not really interested in the foods I'm suppose to add back. So is this ok? To eat like on induction until I'm ready to add foods back that I really like?

Hi, Susan

I advanced through the rungs, spending at least 2 weeks on each rung. I stayed on Rung 1 for 2 months, trying new veggies, and on the weeks that I didn't add new veggies, I upped my carbs to find my CCLL. Since the first of September, I have dropped back to Rung 1 plus an ounce of natural almonds. I didn't lose as fast as I wanted to eating from Rungs higher than 1, so I have been eating up to 45 net carbs at Rung 1 plus the almonds. I don't think that there's anything wrong with not eating a lot from the upper rungs, as long as you find your CCLL and eat lots and lots of veggies. The veggies have good nutrition, fiber, and add variety to your menu. Some people might get bored by not eating from the higher rungs, but personally, I thrive on it. I have just entered Pre-Maintenance where we are supposed to try to slow our losses to less than a pound a week. I'll be doing that by adding back in some of the foods I eliminated when I finished going up the rungs. That will slow me right down.

How many net carbs are you eating? Have you joined the Veggie Challenge yet? I broke a pause in my losses by joining the last Veggie Challenge in April. It was an important challenge for me... I have found that I lose more weight when I eat more veggies.

I'm the same way!

There's just not much on those rungs that interests me a whole lot. I tend to eat more veggies than on induction, and occasionally cottage cheese or nuts, but that's about it.

And my carb count varies between about 20 and 40. <shrug>

Thanks so much, Ladies. I've been eating between 25 and 40 carbs. I've been eating mostly from the other veggies list. I get tired of salads pretty easily but I love pumpkin and brocolli.
