| Hoping, you're not limited to 3 cups of veggies anymore (and wouldn't be if you were choosing to weigh your food instead of go with volume measurements in induction anyway). Mix them up and eat them! They're great for ya!

| To reach my 25 carbs I added more of the higher carb veggies like red peppers (I have one everyday). I always check the thread on 5 carb veggie portions for inspiration. As for not reaching 20-25 carbs I try to because I find I lose more weight (when the extra carbs are from veggies). I also make a ton of homemade veggie soups from Linda's site. |

| Well, I've been weighing my veggies for the most part. The problem is when the week starts I need something easy that I can take on the go. Well, by the time I eat a cucumber (throughout) the day I'm full. Yesterday I ate half a cucumber in the afternoon. Then last night we went out to Mexican and I ate a taco salad. I couldn't eat anymore. Then I went to the gym, and ate the rest of the cucumber. Anyway, I ended up getting on fitday and plugging in what I ate. I was stunned! I had only taken in about 615 calories! And I worked off 100 (I know, I'm a slacker. It was my first day back at the gym! This means no more excuses. I have to find time for myself, and cook veggies, or at least eat them raw. I couldn't believe last night, so from now on I'm going to use fitday and I'm going to make sure I get my veggies. The thing is, what if I can't eat anymore? I felt full yesterday. It was a struggle to finish that cucumber last night, but thankfully the work out gave me a little teenie weenie bit of appettite. My plan is also to lower my protein intake that way I can consume all of my veggies, and I'm going to work out so I get more of an appettite. Ugh. I hope I haven't done damage to my body. That's what I get for not using fitday this whole time. |

| Your appetite will increase as you increase your veggies. I had the same issue of calories going extremely low at the end of induction - and the thought of eating more was horrendous, I was so full. That lingered for a while. I was lucky in that the veggie challange came along about then, which forced me to make certain I was getting enough, and to look at veg I would not normally eat or cooked in way I would not normally cook them. I enjoyed the veg so much that week that I have continued eating more than I ever did before (and I always liked veg!). It creates a nice balance - you are hungry enough to eat enough, but not so hungry that you eat like a pig!! I'd highly recommend that you read through some of the veggie challange thread - it'll give you a good feel for what is the right amount of veg and lots of ideas about how to incorporate them into your meals.

| If you listen to your body and eat the amount that relieves your hunger, your body won't let you starve. On days I'm more active, my appetite is larger than on days I'm not. the trick to the veggies is to eat the higher carb veggies on the list. Another trick is to eat them as sauces or soups. There is a sticky thread at the top that addresses this.
