| Somebody asked back in January on this thread how many ounces of lettuce are in 13 cups of shredded lettuce. According to fitday, it's about 26.5 ounces of lettuce or 1.66 (1 2/3) pounds of lettuce.

| Hey there, i am thinking of moving to OWL. This list has been very useful. Do I increase 5 g from each rung a day. That means I am allowed 45g of carb plus 20 from induction making 65g daily. Correct me if I am wrong???

| Noorian, I'm sure someone else will have a more detailed answer but I saw your popst and had to catch you before you proceeded. OWL is where you SLOWLY add in more good carb foods. If you just finished induction, you spend at least 1 week on Rung 1, which means you add 5 carbs of rung 1 veggies, veggies from the salad or other veggie list. So not 65 carbs, 25 carbs. See how your body handles the new foods and the new load. Then every week or every 2 weeks, or whatever time frame you pick but AT LEAST a week, you move to the next level and add just 5 net carbs at a time. I hope that makes sense, it's early. I just wanted to correct you before you possibly knocked yourself out of ketosis with an immediate 65 carb day. Hope I helped. Hugs Denise |

| Where I live, fresh tomatoes are crazy expensive. We've been making due with the canned variety. Would you be able to list the amounts for regular canned diced tomatoes? |

| I've looked in fitday.com but there are so many variations there. You would be better looking on the can's label and working it out for the particular brand you have, Meena

| There is an idea that was so simple I'd not even thought of it. hahaha. I went to look at two cans that I keep on hand all the time. Italian style, yum, and with chilies. The chilies style actually lists 5 carbs per 1/2 cup. The Italian style lists 7 carbs per 1/2 cup. How should I approximate that? Should I just use a quarter cup? Math is not my favorite subject and fractions are even worse so if there is any way this could be made simple, I'd give you a huge hug. lol. And does the carb count increase if I cook them? |
