| if time is a crunch for you (as it is for most of us!) make up little veggie bags with stuff like broccoli, peppers, celery and cauliflower for easy snacking! you can portion them out, and have a bunch in your fridge for a "grab and go" sort of thing. i personally hate veggies but have found i actually eat them when they are already prepped and just waiting for me in the fridge. |

| Great idea! Find those veggies that pack the punch and the carbs you need to keep up. About the onions: they do have a higher carb count because they do contain a natural starch, sugar (remember, they burn/brown well in pans because of the natural sugars). If you haven't had them during induction and you're just now adding them back in, you might indeed have a slight intolerance to them. If you have had them during induction but you're now being more aware of what veggies you can eat, chances are you might have that same intolerance to them. Does that mean you'll always have that issue? Probably not. It just means that you might have to either try not eating them or find a combination of veggies/proteins that you can eat with the onions at the same time. You're doing a great job listening to your body....you'll find what veggies work and what don't.

Try to eat the veggies on the "other" list because they have a higher carb content than the "Salad" list veg. How did you eat those onions and tomatoes? Did you have them with a fat?

| My personal favourite for adding 5 net carbs without having to eat 13 extra cups of lettuce According to fitday 1 cup of raw sliced red peppers has about 4 net carbs but cooks down to a smallish heap!

| Pumpkin is another great way to get those extra veggie carbs. A half cup of canned pumpkin equals 4 net carbs. Make sure you check the can for ingredients & make sure you are getting just pumpkin & not the pumpkin pie mixture. My favorite is Libby's. I put 2 Tbsp of cream cheese, 1 pkg of Splenda & a pinch of cinnamon in with the pumpkin. Microwave for 40 seconds & then mix up well. It is like eating a piece of pumpkin cheesecake~~~without the crust.

| Libby's is my favorite brand (I'm not sure which one you used). I've tried the store brands in the area, but for some reason it's either Libby or make my own when pumpkins are in season---and that won't be long from now
