| That is tough. So far in situations like that I have declined saying I cannot have sugar. Most people probably take that to mean I have diabetics and have been very understanding

| i have read people on here saying they act as if they have a food allergy... thats how i choose to do it.. i am allergic to sugar... act like, think like, eat like a diebetic or someone who is extremely allergic... or just imagine gross things crawling on the b-day cake and say no thank you |

| Hey Gman, Isnt it awful that you cant just say..I am on Atkins and I cant have it? You could lie and say your stomach is not feeling well but you would like to take a peice home for later....then quickly change the conversation and leave without the cake as if you forgot it. Dont allow them to even put a little sugar past those lips....then you will re start the cravings all over again! |

| OK I'm back from the gym ... thanks for your support ... you guys are the best. Here's our plan: 1) I may pro-actively have one of my sensible lunches on the way to the party to quench the appetite. Optional - see later re salad. 2) It will be a pretty big party, big house, etc. so it's not like we're all sitting around one table, so I can easily skip the cake moving between rooms. 3) If anyone pins me down to have cake (like the mom would be my expectation) I'll say something stupid like Awe let the kids have it...I'm already sweet enough! 4) If anyone further pins me down to have cake, we arm wrestle. 5) I don't have a 5. How's that?
