| I know what you are going through. Seems like I lose weight a few days in a row then i jump up a pound out of nowhere. The good news is that you will start going down again, so don't worry about it too much. If you are feeling bored with the induction menu then check out the neverending induction recipes. Whenever i get bored i try one and even if i dont like what i made it helps get me more creative in the kitchen. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...n-recipes.html (Never ending induction recipes) I hope that helps. Have a Great Day

| Hey girls... I understand your woes, but let me just say STOP measuring your success by the numbers down there in front of your toes... YOU will seriously drive yourself mental doing that. I had some friends in my late teens and early 20's who used to call me TUGS... not a nice name but I didn't mind the reasoning behind it. I left home at 16, and was on my own in the world after that. I had lots of jobs sometimes 2 different ones in one night... I had to put a roof over my head. well most of my friends had cars and cash from mom and dad in their pockets and most every friday night off. On their friday night they would come and visit me at work in the mall where I sold clothes or cooked in a kitchen. They saw the hurdles I had to face in my life and were amazed how I put my head down and just did what I had to do. So they called me "Tugs" after the story: " the little engine that could". If you don't know the story its about a long train who has to go over a mountain who just chugs away saying " I think I can, I think I can...." And he does... SO long story I know but my point is that I applied this ability of mine to my early atkins experience and I still do every day... with one slight modification. MY mantra now is "I KNOW I CAN... I KNOW I CAN... I KNOW I CAN" With every borning egg I eat, with every hill I climb, with every oz of water I consume I CLAIM... I know I can... with that winning attitude and my disregard for the scale on a daily basis, each month I weigh in I see the numbers lower, and more importantly I am getting smaller. 57lbs lower...to date IT just takes some time YOU CAN DO IT TO!!! put your head down and power through it. THe payoff... like I say all the time... is PRICELESS!!! Kath |

| eclectikat (TUGS), Thanks soooo much for the great pep talk! It really was just what I needed! I know the "weighing daily" think is nuts, and probably yet another habit I need to break! Maybe I'll get my DH to hide it, and just bring it out once a week! My mini goal for the next few days will be to stay OFF the scales until Monday! |

| If you are bored with the food, you aren't taking advantage of all the yummy foods available even on induction. There are 59 veggies on the induction list and a thousand different ways to prepare them. Soooo much meat and so many ways to prepare it. I've been doing Atkins for almost three years, and I never get tired of the food. I'm in the middle of writing a low carb cookbook and I don't have enough meals in a week to even test most of them. I'm always cooking up a batch of something delicious and then having to freeze most of it so I can try something different. Branch out! Be bold and try new things! Sunny!

| I totally know what you mean though...I just started OWL too..day three for me. I find that I am really not even that hungry, most of the time I am eating because I know I should or because I don't want to get sick. It is great to try to recipes the ones I have tried have been wonderful. But, I have never cooked so much in my life as I have on this diet. I work and go to school and it is really hard to take the time to cook. The trouble is with the first couple of rungs you are only aloud the same food that was aloud on induction just more of it and frankly I don't really feel like eating more of it...I already feel satisfied I guess, I kind of feel like I am forcing those extra carbs. |

| Hi Lost to Live! I've did Induction for 4 weeks and have now completed one week of OWL. I noticed that during the last two/three weeks my weignt tends to stay the same for most of the week (and sometimes even tick up slightly) then all of a sudden it goes down by 1-2 pounds. It's kind of strange - I never noticed my body doing this before, but that's what happened the last 2 weeks, and now it seems to be starting on this trend again. Also, sometimes right before the drop, I would feel kind of low/down. I think some of those times I needed to eat a bit more food, because when I did, I felt better. (Frequently, I wasn't hungry and was just forcing myself to et little bits of food at mealtimes.) I was really demoralized about this in the beginning, when I didn't realize the wieght would come off soon. But it did wind up coming off. So I can really relate to how you feel!

| I'm so right in there with all the comments above. Sometime in the last 2 weeks I've just gotten it through my head that this is a life journey. One step forward, two steps back, three steps forward, one step back...Yeah, it's a challenge to see the scale go up a pound for no apparent reason. But if you just hang with it, boom, a 2-3 pound loss over a day or two. Totally, check out the recipes and learn new foods that you just love. I'm with SunnySmile there, it's just so much fun to experiment. Yeah, I cook more than I used to, but then, I'm not grabbing a sandwich or a cookie or a bowl of ice cream. That didn't require cooking but it wasn't healthy, either. Keep on going, you're going to make your goal, and on the way you'll learn a lot about yourself and develop new tastes and build your health while you're at it. Have fun with it!
