Default Russell Stovers Sugar Free peanuts

I'm on OWL 4 weeks in to Atkins...

I like to sometimes eat the Russell Stovers Sugar Free chocolate covered peanuts not sure how allowed this food is.

Total Carbs 20g
Dietary fibers 1g
Suagrs 0g
Sugar Alcohol 17g

ongredients consist of chocolate candy (maltitol, chocolate, cocoa butter, sodium, caseinate (milk) milk fat, soy, lecithin/an emulsifer, sucralose, natural and aritifaical flavors and salt. Peanuts, maltitol confectioners glaze, food starch- modified citrus acid, sorbic acid,, maltitol syrup, and gum arabic.

I know for some people sugar alcohols can slow down weightloss. I don't believe it slows down for me and also it's a good "laxative".

Is there anything els ei have to worry about?

Depending on whether you count peanuts as a legume or a nut would mean you need to be at either rung 5 or 3.

As for the sugar alcohols - my personal rule is that if I can eat them with no 'bathroom effect' then I need to count each pesky carb of them as my body is not allowing them to rush through my body unprocessed!

If they cause really bad problems (explosive diarrhoea etc) I would assume I could deduct those carbs completely, and anywhere in-between would count a percentage of them depending on severity.

So, If I read that right, I am a little s l o w. Sorry!

If they "come out quickly", I am good, and I don't have to count the carbs, but if they don't then I have to count them.

There are other Russell Stovers products I eat that are sugar free and don't include nuts, It shows the same carbohydrate count. Like mints, carmel drops, reese cups.

Yes - but many people DO have problems losing weight while using more then the 3 servings of sweeteners we are allowed.

Also chocolate and cocoa butter are a nut product, so I would assume this makes any chocolate a rung 3 food.

I am not an expert on this diet as I have only been doing it for 8 days, but we bought some of those Stover's candies like you mentioned and honestly they seem to help me stay regular. I did not have any major transactions today so I ate 3 pieces (one serving) and within a couple hours...well. You know.

I have been wondering if they were "ok" by the book or no. They were recommended to me by a friend who has been doing the diet for a long time. I was learly of the Peanut Butter cups, but the truffles, turtles, coconut bars, and toffee squares are all amazing. I ususally have two a day. One as a snack between breakfast (6am) and lunch (11am) and then another after dinner while watching TV. Hope nobody says these are bad because they have been helpful to me. At first by satiating my sweets crave and now for the regularity issue.

It's going to vary from person to person how your body reacts to them as Elizellen says. Many people have issues with them causing stalls, I personally never had a problem with them however, I don't like the horrific gas and cramps they give me, just not worth it IMO. If you are still losing without an issue, and the side effects aren't bothering you...then go ahead. Just keep in mind if your weightloss stalls or stops, they are one of the first things you should cut out.

Just a warning: In my experience sf candy triggers carb cravings and takes days for the cravings to go away.

But if they don't cause you any problems with cravings and with losing then I don't see anything wrong
