Question organic natural chocolate and almond breeze

Question #1:

Ok - so i KNOW that chocolate really isn't allowed...but do any of you allow yourself organic chocolate?

while at the health food store, i came across an 88% cocoa extreme dark chocolate. the serving size was
4 pieces at:
200 calories
19 grams fat
10 grams sat. fat
16 grams carbs
6 grams fiber
5 grams sugar
4 grams protein

and they were wrapped individually - so divide the above by 4:
1 piece is:
50 calories
4.75 grams fat
2.5 grams sat. fat
4 grams carbs
1.5 grams fiber
(2.5 grams net carbs???)
1.25 grams sugar
1 gram protein

I'm REALLY wondering because I'm seriously missing chocolate and if I remember there was 10 pieces individually wrapped...i was thinking I could freeze them and have ONE as sparingly as "needed"...(for during TOM - which now that i've been eating this way for 2 months - both times TOM has been here, i HAVE realized i missed my chocolate...)

but what do you guys think?

SECOND QUESTION
Almond Breeze beverage...this is obviously only allowed after rung 3 - nuts ring, right? I remember the N.I. (didn't write those down like i did the chocolate and coconut from my other post lol) but it was 2 grams carbs 1 gram fiber 0 grams sugar for 8 oz.

Does anyone drink this? Is it any good?...thanks for all your input!!!!!!!

I believe. but I may be wrong, that fiber carbs and carbs listed are different. but someone else probably knows better..
Additionally, there is sugar in it, which is a big no no in Atkins.. Have you considered about getting some cocoa powder, and make up your own chocolate??
I have no idea about almond breeze..

Read the ingredients to your foods. If they contain sugar (sucrose, dextrose, corn syrup, fructose, rice syrup, etc.), then it is not allowed no matter how many carbs they might have.

Also check your multivitamins....chocolate cravings are a sign of magnesium deficiency.

oh well - a girl could dream...but i will keep that in mind when looking at ingredients - no "ose" - no syrups (which, i knew that one already) is allowed.

I know I feel like I'm getting this thing "down" but there's still going to be soooo many questions!!!
y.
also - thanks for those links. i will look into the deficiancy - who knows, it's ALWAYS a possibility...??

Soy lecithin is made from soy beans, after you take the oil out. Since soy is a Rung 6 food, it might affect your weight loss.

The other problem is the tapioca starch. Tapioca is a root vegetable and is only allowed on OWL Rung 8.

I would say the tapioca starch (grain) means it would be a rung 9 food rather than a rung 3 (nuts) one.

Listen, I can't find the recipe, but I mix cocoa with coconut oil and splenda and a pinch of salt. If you want to try it just mix in enough cocoa to make the oil nice and dark, start with at least a half cup of the coconut oil in a bowl. Then add splenda til it tastes sweet enough, and the pinch of salt, a splash of vanilla if you want.

I spread the whole thing on a buttered plate and stick it in the freezer. Once I have frozen it, I just break it into pieces and keep it in the freezer. A couple of little pieces will take care of my chocolate desires. It will melt on your fingers, just to let you know!

I use unsweetened almond breeze in maintenance, I love it and have never had issues with it.

It's pretty low on the protein and fat compared to soy milk, but I like the flavour better. And despite being made with almonds, it apparently doesn't have any of the health benefits because it has so little.

It's a great alternative to milk for drinking and in wholegrain cereal etc though if you're trying to avoid dairy.
