| I am also on OWL, have been for 3 weeks now and love it...it is so nice to have berries back in my diet. My loss is usually slow (about 1lb a week since I moved into OWL)...so I have been slow in increasing my carbs. I often find myself sticking to 25-30 carbs a day even though I am RUNG 3. I would venture to guess I have a low CCL, but am yet to test that theory.

| Hi! I'm doing OWL also. I stuck to Atkins very strictly for almost 6 months, but then I got very sick for most of February, and have really been struggling to hang on to this WOE. I never went off completely, but I've been cutting corners, eating salad out a lot with dressing that probably has sugar, not exercising, eating occassional little sugar free candies . . . I did find out from this that 30 may be my CCLL. I did no exercise last week and was at 30 net carbs and my weight stayed the same. I'm going back to exercise this week and sticking to 30 net carbs. I'm also going to try to get back to more strictly folloing this WOE. Before when I was exercising and at 30 net carbs I was losing about 1 1/2 - 2 pounds a week. I've also notices there are not all that many OWL posts. Would anyone be interested in a thread where we check in with each other every few days and say how we are doing?

| Well I think we OWLers should think of something to keep the forum lively. If we were a tad more active and shared a bit it would provide a positive example for people who thinks induction is all there is. So what could we do?

| Hi - I saw this post and wanted to add my thoughts. I'm on Rung 4 (berries). I was most excited so far to add cottage cheese back into my meals - believe me, I don't LIKE cottage cheese but it tastes really good to me now that my pallet has been cleansed with this WOE. I buy the Breakstone individual portions and add about 1/4 to 1/2 pkt of Splenda and some pepper. I also found Dannon has diabetic yougurt that only has 3 carbs per serving. I have both the vanilla and strawberry flavors (since I can have berries I got the strawberry). I had a couple strawberries yesterday and they really tasted good. I almost bought some blueberries at the store, but decided to have only strawberries first. I have also had a Tbsp of sunflower seeds on top of a salad a couple times or a handful of cashews. My "staple" sometime during the day are 2 flax cookies (1 serving) -- they are a little sweet, a little crunchy and I really look forward to having them. Another reason I like them is that they take about 30 seconds to whip up and 3-1/2 minutes to microwave - so within 5 minutes I can have a delicious snack! Another thing I like to make occassionally are cheese crackers -- when I'm eating something that normally I would have had potato chips. Today for lunch I made ground up roast pork with a little mayo & pickles [like ham salad] I made the cheese crackers and put the ground pork on top and ate it. I'm still looking for a good replacement for bread....I tried making a flax bun tonight but it needed "something"....I think a little sea salt would have made it taste a little better. I put garlic powder, pepper and onion powder in the mixture before I cooked it, but next time I'll try making it with sea salt. I also thought it was too much for 1 portion, so maybe next time I'll make it as 2 portions. I'm going to try making my own bar-b-que sauce. I have a bottle of Walden Farms brand bar-b-que sauce and it's ok, but I think I can make it better. I am going to get some brown sugar flavor Splenda and will put it with low carb ketchup, smoke flavor and mix it up -- that's pretty much how I made bar-b-que sauce before (brown sugar, ketchup, a pinch of salt & smoke flavor) so I don't think it would taste bad -- will just have to make sure I have left over carbs for the Splenda & ketchup that day. Ok, I'm sorry to go on and on -- didn't mean to hijack the thread! If anyone has any ideas about bread substitute (not revolution rolls either thank you) I'd be interested to know about them. There is a flax bread recipe I've been looking at -- has anyone tried that? Ok I'm stopping now!!!!! Carole
