| Since you've been doing this for eight months, you should have a fairly good idea of how you normally react. The food reaction could have been caused by food you ate, but it is possible that it was caused by another influence. Were your emotions high, or was there anything that could affect your hormones such as TOM? Were you high stressed or bored? Just trying to cover all the bases here.

| No, it wasn't TOM, nor was I bored. Stress is a possibility...yes, that is a strong possibility. Only thing is, I have had stressful days, even weeks, in the past and it usually causes loss of appetite, not an increase.

| Sometimes when cravings hit it can be a combination of things, and that is harder to pinpoint. It sounds like you've ruled out all the single things. Best thing to do is just wait a few days, then try the cabbage again and see if it has the same affect. Best of luck to you!

| Thank you for the reply, Elleth. I am so confused about yesterday. The only other thing I came up with as a possible trigger is that right before I have a whooshie, I tend to get hungry (but never in the past as hungry as yesterday). If that was the reason, I think I blew it for that whooshie in the near future. :anger You have done so well on this WOL. I always appreciate reading your posts and your willingness to help the rest of us.

| Are you sure it was true hunger and not thirstas the two control mechanisms lay side by side in the brain and spill over occurs a lot. if it happens again drink a big glass of water and wait 30 min. If the hunger goes away then you were just thirsty if it stays then you need to deal with it as best you can in your Atkins. to help you identify what kind of triggering even it was Dr Atkins suggested in DANDR that we immediately eat a high fat food like cream cheese or macadamia nuts in OWL to stablize blood sugar. That should handle it if it was indead caused by a blood sugar issue. Keep your fats high and it should stablize with out any damage. If it was metal then you need to deal with the causes of that and take steps to eliminate the cause too. In the mean time you can do something to distract you from thinking about it while your fats work on your insulin levels to suppress that appetite with some ketosis by products. ID you by any chance eat a larger then normal amount of protein the day before? that can cause blood s sugar issues and dehydration too and/or maybe get your fats too low?

| Hi, 2big thank you for the suggestions. I drank 12 glasses of water, ate high fat all day at intervals. The day before was a good ol' Atkins day with appropriate % food catagories per fitday. I looked at my previous posts for the last few months and I had forgotten that when I get a big weight loss on one day, I am usually hungry the day/night before and think this is what was causing the hunger yesterday. Next time this hunger happens, I will remember this and ride it through without the pigout. Hopefully, it will result in a whooshie reward the next day.
