| We try to avoid sucrose as much as possible, but cannot always avoid it. I am sure that one carb of sucrose one time will not hurt, but the frequency you have the shakes and if you have more than one serving could have an impact. Try to make sure you consume some fat around the same time.

| An egg has a little more protien than fat, so it is not the best choice. You are already drinking a protien shake, and if you consume too much protien at once, your body will convert it to sugar. A piece of cheese might be a better option. Are you exercising at the time you drink the protien shake? If so, your body will be using some of the protien right away and the concern of conversion to sugar is not as great.

| actually eggs are almost perfect Atkins foods with 60% of the cals from fats. Are you sure it was sucrose in your shake or one gram of sugar carbs? can you link us to your brand and we can see the ingredients very few shakes have sucrose in them if they are low carb.

| its a cheap brand of trader joes, it has 1 carb in it & it also towards the bottom of the ingredients says maltodextrine..?? that sounds scary as well. I posted this on another favorite forum of mine as well. Thanks, gina.
