| That works for some. I'd suggest moving into the OWL rungs.

| Not providing your body with proper nutrition, either calories or carbs, will slow down weight loss. You need a good supply of macro- and micronutrients for your body to produce the chemicals required to keep the metabolism running at full speed. Your profile info says "14-day Induction", but I know you've been on Atkins for more than 14 days. Did you do extended Induction? Since you have 40 lbs (lbs or kg? Your signature is a little confusing...) to lose, I think you should definitely move to OWL and start adding back foods in the order they are on the Carbohydrate Ladder. What is your degree of metabolic resistance?

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | Hello! Thank you both for your replies. Georgiana, I need to update my profile. Thank you for reminding me. As for my metabolic resistance, I lost 7 pounds in my first week on Atkins. I lost my book at the moment so I'm not sure what that means my resistance is. I started at 185. I have been doing extended induction. Just two days ago I started eating almonds. Other than that, I'm pretty much following induction with under 20 carbs. |

Either find your book or get a new one as soon as possible. You will need it, especially now that you are about to change phases. Re-read the OWL chapter (Ch. 14) and the stickies in the OWL forum, to make sure you are doing things correctly. Quote:
