Thumbs down one month plateau at 192

Okay, I am still at 192. it has been about a month/ 4 weeks. At one point during the month, my weight slipped to 191 for a few moments one morning when I weighed in but it has been pretty consistently 192 give or take decimal points.

I experimented with nuts this month, either peanut butter or almond butter no sugar. I have eliminated those. I just recently eliminated cream cheese which I have been eating pretty much all daily with the celery and cucumbers. I even mixed it into the sugar free pumpkin and cauliflower. That is the only non veggie or protein item that I have dealt with so that must be it. So sorry to see it go. I was eating 2 to 4 tablespoons or more a day.

No my measurements haven't changed either.

Were you eating cream cheese while you were losing weight?

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"

Can you post a typical menu with net carbs and quantities?

This long of a stall may be normal ... you may have to just be patient.

How much water are you drinking?

Georgiana: No I wasn't eating cream cheese while losing. That is why I have removed it.

Atkinsgal08: Typical menu is: breakfast: 1/4 cup eggbeater ( 1carb) , 1 tbs spinach (1 carb- 1 fiber= 1 net carb) , 1 sausage patty ( 0 carb = 1 net carb )
a.m. snack - 1 -2 celery stalks ( 2carb-2fiber = 0 net carbs, 1/2 cucumber ( 0 carb-0 fiber = 0 net carbs) , 2 tablespoons cream cheese ( 2carbs)
Lunch - 6oz chicken salad ( 6 oz chicken + 2 tablespoons mayonaise (2 net carbs) 2 celery sticks( 2carb-2fiber = 0 net carbs) , 1/2 cucmbber, 2 tablespoons cream cheese ( 2carbs), 2 cups green cabbage ( 6 net carbs) , 2 tablespoon mayonaise (2 net carbs) , 1 tablspoon vinegar (1 carb)
pm snack - 1/2 cup pork cracklins, 6 radishes ( net carbs), 2 tablespoons cream cheese ( 2carbs) 6 radishes ( 0 carb + 0 fiber = 0 net carbs)
dinner - 4-6 oz steak or pork, 2 cups of cabbage w/ mayo+ vinegar ( 9 net carbs)

Other veggie choices for dinner: 1/4 cup pumpkin (4 net carbs) + 1 cup cauliflower (3 net carbs) or green iceberg lettuce.

Net carbs per day 27 -29 since moving to ongoing weight loss. There were a few more carbs when I added that peanut butter ( 4 net carbs per 2 tablespoons) or almond butter but I have since removed them from my diet.

32-48 ounces of water a day.
I keep meticulous track of my food.

>>1/4 cup eggbeater>>

Why not a real egg? This stuff is very processed and has extra junk.

>>1 -2 celery stalks ( 2carb-2fiber = 0 net carbs>>

Vegetables aren't 0 carbs ... you need to check your carb counts against an accurate carb counter such as FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or the USDA site at http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/

Also ... Atkins is a MINIMUM of 64 ounces of water ... and most find that 1/2 their current weight in ounces works best ... so you would need around 95 ounces.

>> I keep meticulous track of my food.>>

Now you just need more accurate carb counts on the vegetables!

i got those carbs from fit day. My mistake, The cucmber was for 1 slice instead of 1 whole cucumber is 4 net carbs. I do have it programed correctly in the fit day food log.

I have been drinking quite a bit less water , this month since I have been working the immunization clinics trying to get people vaccinate for H1N1 and I can't run to bathroom as frequently.

I still think that it is the cream cheese.

>>i got those carbs from fit day. M>>

Then something is wrong. You shouldn't have to "program" Fitday ... it's already programmed.

1 stalk of celery (medium) is 1.2 total carbs and 0.64 fiber.

As stated, a vegetable won't be 0 carbs.

>> I have been drinking quite a bit less water>>

Not enough water can equal a stall.

How long since you removed the nuts? (I cannot believe you stopped after 2 tbs of peanut butter - you have will power ) I would see if removing nuts and moving down on the carb intake helps before changing anything else.

Do you know if you were still losing at 27 or did you stop losing when you hit 33?
What dairy items did you add?

If you are using bottled or packaged foods, read the ingredients. Sometimes the manufacturers "improve" the product by changing the ingredients or they just change the ingredients and the carb amount changes. ValidRouge went through a 6 month stall and tried decreasing her carbs, eliminating some foods without any luck....until she read the ingredients to the "sugar-free" ice tea she was drinking: it contained high fructose corn syrup.

How's the exercise going?

And I agree about the water. I totally understand that this year's flu season is busy---it's a madhouse where I work because everyone thinks that if they have a runny nose or a cough they have the Swine flu and need to be seen by our doctors "right now!". If you can keep some water bottles near you so you can take a sip in between seeing people.
