~~Reduced-Carb Spicy Barbecue Sauce~~

1 clove garlic, crushed/ 1 small onion, finely minced/ 1/4 cup butter or oil/ 4 tbls. splenda brown sugar/ 1 tsp. salt/ 1 tsp. dry mustard/ 1 tsp. paprika/ 1 tsp chili powder/ 1/2 tsp. black pepper/ 1 1/2 cups water/ 1/4 cup cider vinegar/ 1 tbls. Worcestershire sauce/ 1 tbls. prepared horseradish/ 1 can tomatoe paste (6 ounces)/ 1 tbls. liquid smoke. 1.) In a saucepan, cook garlic and the onion in the butter for a few minutes. 2.) Stir in the splenda, salt, dry mustard, paprika, chili powder, and pepper. Add in the water,vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish, and stir to combine. Let mixture simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. 3.) Whisk in the tomate paste and liquid smoke, and let the sauce simmer another 5 to 10 minutes. 4.) Let the mixture cool, transfer it to a jar with tight-fitting lid, and store in the refrigerator. Yield: 2 2/3 cups of sauce. Each 2-tablespoon serving has a 3 grams of carbohydrates and 1 gram of fiber, for a total of 2 grams of usable carbs and no protein.

I cannot thank you enough for posting this awesome recipe. We enjoyed it tonight on ribs and will be making bbq chicken with it later in the week. At last...a good tasting low carb sauce!
