Zarabelle, that's a good idea! I like that. I kind of think of my addiction to carbs the same way.

Rosa, you are almost done with your physical detox! Congratulations. In just 72 hours all the chemical addiciton to nicotine is GONE from your system. That chemical addiction can never control you again as long as you never take another puff!

Now, the next two weeks will be in kicking the emotional/mental addiction to the cigarrette. You can DO THIS! In just another 11 days, you will be cigarette free! I'm so happy for you.

Keep up the good work. Be strong!

You are not mad Zarabelle, just creative! hahaha I like that idea also...

Well today I went visit my parents, I needed to wash some sheets and curtains, and clothes that smell of tabaco... the thing is, that my dad smokes! and I pass the first test! I didnt felt tempted to smoke, well I did feel desperate to be smelling the smoke cause I wish I wouldnt smell it again, but I think my dad understood the situation cause he smoke a lot less than he is used to

Anyways, tomorrow I go to a friends house, Im sure Ive done it! I feel clean and I can see my skin thanking me for this... Im doing it also for this, I have read that tabaco damage the skin, not only from the face, but all the body skin, so that is another motivation.

Thanks for the support, this was as important to me as to continue with my new way of eating, this is my new way of life, healthy and free!

I will be counting the days! ValidRouge hehehe

I chewed tobacco from 1983 to September 22, 2007 and I quit. I'll tell you my secret and maybe if you try it it'll work on you as well. I quit cold turkey when my 9 year old daughter asked me to quit and made me promise that I wouldnt chew tobacco again. So I am not going to let me little girl down and lie to her. Choice was pretty simple, lie to me daughter and she loses all trust and faith in me or stay true to me word and she'll respect and look up to me. That is my quiting story and my solution. I dont ever want to lie to my children. Even though I believe me wife put her up to it, it doesnt matter because she asked me to promise her. God Bless, Joe

Default Re: Stoping the smoke addiction

Today I feel dizzy and constipated, I have take some olive oil to help me with this, and it work, after seveal hours, but I still feel dizzy, anyway Im going to put on my walking shoes and do some exercise, I hope to feel better later, I dont want to fail on my exercise challenges. I did lose 3 pounds this past week so Im keeping the good work hehehe

I know that a lot of people could think Im crazy to quit smoking while Im losing weight cause they think this could jeopardize my weight loss, but I think that its precisely the perfect time, cause I waited till I got my new eating habits, I clean my house from carbs, and had several weeks doing exercise so I like to do them now, I feel that need, so smoking was just not in my new way of living, and I was getting angry with the ugly smell and the cough or feeling breathless when I did some exercise. So for me this has been working ok, each day I feel better.

Something that I notice is that when I started Atkins I had a back pain, I thought it was the overweight, or the lack of water or exercise, then I started to do all of this, eat better, drink lots of water, exercise, I have lost about 20 pounds and my back pain instead of disapearing it started to get worse!!! so there was only one thing that I was doing that was against my health, smoking, so I quit and by the third day the lower back pain disapear!!! My insomnia disapear also, I sleep now at 11 pm when I used to sleep by 3 or 4 am. and this just in only the first days, Im writing down all of this on my personal diary so I wont forget what it feels to smoke and how my body is better without it. Ah another thing... my clothes smell delicious when I take them off hahahhaha instead of washing my clothes after half day of use cause they smell like ashtray, now I can leave them for the entire day! So its ecological! I save water!

Have a great day,

Rosa

So exercise and having think of my menu for the day among other things, like cleaning, is helping me to stay off the tabaco, I feel so much better, I went from walking 2 miles to 3 and I dont feel tired! I even feel that Im starting to lose more without the cigarrette!

I will see this next sunday when I weight myself

Hola, Rosa,

I am really enjoying reading your words about quiting smoking. I want to quit, I think about it all the time, and I think that with my food cravings gone maybe this is a good time. I am just finishing my first week of induction - maybe for week two I will gather my courage and just do it.

cheers,
Sue
