Your entry was extrememly motivational for me. I've been battling the same thing since i was 14. It touched home with me. I've been put on bc pills, and hate them. I would like to have a baby someday, soon. My gym put me on Metformin b/c of my weight and risk for diabetes. Also, Metformin is supposed to help with the abscence of periods. I'm takin Provera too to get the monthy friend going again. I can't wait til there comes a time i can be completely off the pills entirely! Good luck to you!

umm i am 26 and a mother of three.. i was diagnosed with PCOS two months ago.. and immidietly started atkins. i lost 7 kilos in two months and i got my cycle twice
i aso take metformin pills 2000mg daily

I was diagnosed with PCOS a number of months ago....explains A LOT!!!!!

Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
4th major goal met – Reached “Onederland” June 6-09 – 198 lbs.
5th major goal met - My 1 yr. Atkins anniversary - Weighing 184 lbs. this day
Current weight – 174 lbs.
Goal weight - 150 – 160

My personal journey - Before and during - From 400 lbs. to 247 lbs. Not done yet!!!

hehehe okay.. after my third child i put on a lot weight and my weight would never go down.. instead it went up...I became depressed (ALOT)
The Doc checked everything even my thyroids and couldnt help me.. coz she didn't know what was wrong with me. offcourse in this year an a half after giving birth i didn't get my monthly friend at all.. i was't surprised coz it was never regular..
I got a urine infection that what drove me to the gyn who did an ultra sound and discovered i ha severe PCOS .. She did all kind of tests which conformed what she said. Since then i was on metfromin only. i exercise daily and ofcourse went on atkins and BOOM!
I started loosing weight
