Angry Needing Help!

Ok Gang! Help Help HELP!!!!! This is really getting so old! We (hubby & me) are SO frustrated right now! We are not losing! We really have not lost outside of the first week we have been dieting, and we are on like week 5! We were eating carrots, but stopped that when we realized the carbs in them!

I was trying to post a typical menu, but that is too hard to do right now!

We are getting discouraged BIG TIME! I am ok with staying on it, but I am feeling down! I dont think I am losing inches either... my fat pants still feel tight!

Yes I drink water! Lots and lots and lots of water! Generally about 128 ounces a day! I dont know how much DH drinks! But he says he drinks plenty as well!

I do 3 meals a day! Generally breakfast is eggs! Then lunch is leftovers from the night before and a salad(small)! For dinner we are looking at recipes that are low carb and induction friendly... trying to stay within the recommended servings! Then I usually do not snack at night.

I do have small amounts of coffee in my day... though I have cut back VERY MUCH! And I have 2 Coke Zero's a day! One with lunch and one with dinner!

I know I am rambling on and on! I just want to lose again! We lost so much before... and now we are just ready to quit!

Then I looked at the fat fast... that would never work! My husband eats food, and he would never make it on 1000 calories! I guess though if that is our only option.... its not though is it? What about taking atkins accel?

Help

Default Re: Needing Help!

first did both of you have the medical blood work done before you started to rule out any medical reasons like low thyroid?
through your entire post I don't see any mention of the mandatory exercise part of the plan. What are you doing for your aerobic and resistance exercise? Are those plans new to your body cause this can cause fluid retention in the muscles when you begin making the scales not move until your body gets used to it.

HAve you done a full bnody tape measure measurement and tracked your inches?

Are you using one of the free online food trackers like www.fitday.com to keep track of your carbs? if so you can make it public and give us a link and not have to post the foods.

I think Coke Zero has aspartame in it, which is another common staller of weight loss. The caffeine can also be a staller. Dr. Atkins recommends avoiding both as do many here in ADBB.

Post a typical menu, can help, as there's often things we don't realize we are doing wrong. Track what you are eating in fitday, and make sure you are counting net carbs. It's also important to have the proper ratios of 30% protein/65%fat/5% carbs (or close to it) during induction. Exercise is key too.

I know you're taking the steps to get past this, and SOOOO glad you came to join our challenge! I agree about the exercising. If you've started a new routine, the new stress on your joints will cause them to hold water, but it will let go. If you aren't exercising, maybe DH and you can start walking in the evenings. Hope you see that scale sliding soon.

Default Re: Needing Help!

Eat some good fats!! Add fat to your meals with butter and mayo.

In addition when you eat a fiberous carb like veggies you MUST eat it with protein/fat, or you'll crave.

Drink your water, drink up.

No sugar-free anything!!!! You will stall, and if you're anything like me you'll crave.

Stick to DANDR and eat as DR. A stipulated and the food he stipulated.

Do the FAT fast in DANDR to get things going, DR. A recommends this.

Be Encouraged and Fight the Good Fight!!!
