Default Living w/PCOS - November 2006

Hey PCOSisters!

I just wanted to report in that I found out some new things this week:

1. Exercise increases insulin sensitivity and it is suggested that you workout 80 minutes per day.

2. Cinnamon increases insulin sensitivity. I eat it daily in my Flax Muffin and also just bought some supplements at Wal-Mart to take at night so I will have a steady flow.

3. It takes four to six months to start seeing relief from your symptoms with diet and exercise. Next week will be my fourth month eating low-carb and six weeks of steady exercise. I'm hoping that my hormones are starting to normalize.

I am happy to report that I did not use any progesterone cream in October and my TOM was only a day off schedule! Yay! I'm hoping that I'll have this good news to report in November also.

Well, if you get a moment, please check in and let me know how things are going with you. I'm looking for someone with success on beating PCOS and I hope to join that group soon!

There is hope and it is through Atkins WOE and exercise! We can do this!!

Can I join in with you all? I am a PCOSer too!

I am not on any hormones or suppliments at all for PCOS. In 2004, I had a hysterectomy due to sever Endometriosis, but because I was only 37 I still kept my ovaries. I have all the sysmptoms, Facial Hair, Insulin Resistance, Weight Gain.. you know the list. In 2003 when I was diagnosed, the OB/GYN told me he wanted me on Atkins. And it really helped!!!!!

Question though for you. My facial hair problem is even worse now than before. Anyone know what can be done? I pluck my chin every day. and now that I have lost weight, you can see it even more!

have you had any recent blood work done to check your hormone and insulin levels so you could compare them to back then when you were diagnosised? that should tell you what is going on and the treatment needed.
