| I have lost almost 75 pounds in a year with this way of eating. I have never felt better. Getting that extra weight off feels so good. It wasn't hard for me to stick to. I am really glad that I decided to pick up an Atkins book and read it. I also went to google.com and "googled" for PCOS and read anything and everything I could get my hands on. I also went to the book store and looked for books on PCOS. Getting a better understanding of what exactly is going on helps a lot. I didn't even know what PCOS was until I was in the ER about to get my ovary taken out. When I went to the hospital, I was thinking it was my appendix or my gall bladder that was hurting me so bad. As for the constant pain, have you been to your doctor? I too had constant pain in my right side and ended up having to have the right ovary and fallopian tube removed because my ovary had swollen up so large, it twisted. You might want to go and get an ultrasound to see what is going on... After my surgery, my GYN put me on Yasmin birth control. I have an appointment set up with and endocrinologist this coming May, was supposed to be April, but I had to reschedule that. The Yasmin helps. I used to lose A LOT of hair from the front of my head, the "bangs area" I call it, even though I don't have bangs...lol I noticed when I started the Yasmin, my hair falls out a lot less and I don't have near as much acne as I did before. Being on Atkins and helping the insulin resistance is a HUGE help. I feel so much better. I used to be SUPER tired all the time, lethargic even, but now I am feeling pretty normal, other than the hair on my face. I am hoping when I go to the endo., he can help me with this. I am sorry if this is jumbled, I'm not too good at putting thoughts into print...lol

| Hi Girl - Thank you so much for your post. It certainly wasn't jumbled - it made perfect sense. I must tell you that I have had the very similar experience as you have. I had a vaginal ultrasound that showed severe PCOS. The doctor put me on Yasmin as well as Spironalactone. I was on both meds for 2 years. I went off the meds to see how I would feel without and needless to say, it isn't good. I need to go back and get on the meds again. I did have my gallbladder removed about 2 years ago, so I know that pain too !! LOL I will be making an appt. soon and will more than likely get back the Yasmin. I don't have acne or hair loss, but I am extremely irregular in my cycle. I am hoping that this WOE will help with the PCOS - I have having a bit of a time losing the weight, but I am sure it will come off in time !!! Best of luck to you - thank you again for replying !!
