absolutely! when you do lo-carb, insulin is not constantly swirling around in your blood stream in response to eating refined carbs and sugars. insulin is a master hormone, so when it's up, it suppresses the other hormones in your body. once you get that insulin under control, the other hormones will do what they are supposed to do, so your estrogen, FSH, and LH will work right and you will get a visit from AF. neat stuff, huh?

i had my 1st TOM in a long time 8 days on atkins. I've been eating atkins 6 months now i get 36 day clyles "i never had 28 day cycles" i had 36 days TOM in my teens. In adulthood i'd go months with no cycles. I still think my body's weird i ONLY lose weight now right after a cycle so every 36 days or so after TOM i'll drop 3-7 pounds which equals 1-2 a week but i don't lose it weekly. i've lost 45 in 6 months if i did not have PCOS i think that loss would be better.

just stick with this way of eating and i think you'll be pleasantly surprised in another month or so when your system starightens out. just a word of caution here... you really shouldn't go more than 3 months without a period (of you are not pregnant). your ob/gyn should prescribe some provera to make it come if you've gone 3+ mopnths without it. your lining may be so thick now, which is why you're not seeing AF just yet.

| It could be that your estrogen and progesterone levels are trying to get in synch again, but aren't close enough for you to actually start quite yet. Keep doing what you are doing and hopefully AF will come and visit soon. Keep us posted?

I'm having cramps again and still no period. Todays 8/19 will be 21 days. I feel bloated, moody and lazy. In the past when i've done atkins i would start days to a week after starting low carb. Is this normal? Are the cramps a good/bad sign??
