Hey, my name is Lisa!

I'm 26 and I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15 or 16 of course didn't care about it to much but when I was 20 or so I started trying to have my first baby with no luck...of course I didn't have periods DUH! Went to a Fertility/Ednocrinologist specialist and was put on metformin and told to follow a low carb diet did there program for a week I was misearable then found Atkins and lost 50lbs got pregnant on my own!!! well unless you count the metformin hehe...anyways I thought I was going to have to go on fertility medication but just loosing the weight was enough....I have a second child now to which I was able to conceive with no problem because I stopped my BC pills and the hormone surge caused me to ovulate I conceived to weeks later....lucky I guess anyways that gets me where I am now...obese because of two pregnancies and nothing has ever worked except atkins before so I am going to give it ago!! I'm not having anymore children, so I am really ready to make a difference in my life!

Hi Lisa I am so glad you were able to conceive on your own, that gives me hope. I also have pcos and I have been on metformin and clomid but no success, so this time I am giving low carb a try. Well good luck on your weight loss journey and I know atkins works my weightloss so far has been 20 pounds. I am hoping to lose another 25 pounds but with atkins I know this can be done.
