| I don't have PCOS but know many who do. You are doing the right thing going to a low carb way of eating. Take care of yourself by getting healthy & find yourself a great OB/GYN! Good luck on your journey!

| hi! i was diagnosed with PCOS since i was 17 and the only way i felt better was when i was prescribed the pill (diane mite 35..at least is called like that in europe). it really helped with everything: i stopped gaining weight, i stopped growing hair-they actually got less, specially on arms and body-, my mood was more or less stabile... Now is the third year i am taking it and i feel stupid not to have taking it before!! If diet helps im not so sure, otherwise i think all the doctors i've been (at least 6 different ones) would have told me. how is it going now? |

| I know *exactly* how you feel. I went through my teens and early 20s convinced I had "bad" genetics. Hairy everything, no reliable period (it would come when it felt like coming) moody and fat despite my best efforts. I managed to lose some weight with exercise and dieting (by dieting, I mean not eating at all) and I found out I was pregnant. I was shocked, but very happy. After having my daughter, I felt pretty normal. Then the symptoms came back. Facial hair, weight gain, irregular bleeding...I finally cried to my nurse practitioner who told me after a sonogram that I had PCOS and had probably suffered with it my entire life (!!!) So I know how it feels to deal with it. It got in the way with wanting a second child, and right now I am just focusing on getting regulated and losing weight. I don't even know where I was going with that, but I thought I would share. |
