| Atkins alone and no meds helped me end an 8 year battle with infertility. I had one child, but gained 100 pounds with that pregnancy, and found myself with no periods except maybe one a year. Seven years, and another 130 pounds more, I was still not having cycles. After 1 year of Atkins and a 70 pound loss my periods started to come back, after another year of doing mostly Atkins, they became more regular, every 60 days, then after another 1/2 year of doing mostly Atkins I finally had a 30 day cycle, and concieved the next one! By mostly doing Atkins I mean I was doing pretty much 2 weeks on Atkins, then would mess up, and it would take me anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to get my act straight again. It was a vicious cycle, and it seems its really hard to stay on Atkins for some of us. Even now that I'm pregnant, and I want what's best for my baby, I still have sometimes a week of eating crappy before getting back on maintenance! Its so worth it, so don't give up! My dream is finally coming true, and yours will too! Some days its going to come down to facing the food that is tempting you and asking if its worth another month without that positive pregnancy test! Best of luck, and pm me if you need encouragement! I'll be happy to help! Oh, and please don't be discouraged by how long it took me. I weighed/ weigh alot more than you, so it took me alot longer. You may find that even after a 20 to 25 pound loss, your fertility will stabilize. |

| i am using this WOL to help with infertility, too. i do have alot more weight to lose, but since i'm 35 (soon to be 36), i don't have the luxury of waiting until i reach a certain weight. we've been TTC since 9/2005. at the moment, i am on clomid and metformin, but we're still striking out. it's actually time for us to go to the next level of reproductive options (as in the IVF route). mind you, i've only been at this for 6 weeks, and although i do not find it difficult to stay on plan, i am frustrated by the fact that i did not even ovulate this month. !!! it could be that because i started really exercising with regularity at the end of janyuary that my cycle is off, but you know, with every passing month that i am not pg, the chances are slimmer and slimmer. |

| Ever since I was young my periods were irregular, they just seemed to get worse as I got older. It got to the point where I was having them once or twice a year. I wasn't really Obese or anything, My highest weight I believe was 160 (well okay maybe more when pregnant but that doesn't count!), I am about 5'6"? I was told that I would not be able to have kids w/o assistance and then I got pregnant with my first son 5 years into our marriage. After my first I started doing Atkins, and just loosing the weight put me back on track of my 30 day cycle. The weight lost was about 40 pounds or so and I am now on my third child. Atkins has definitely helped me get back on track in that department! I cannot honestly say though that I did Atkins to get pregnant, It was just one of those beneficial things. Good luck to you, I hope it works out! |

| I have started Atkins to help facilitate our next pregnancy. The first time I did Atkins, I lost 40 lbs and got pregnant with my son very easily. Unfortunately, I actually gained weight after I had him, due to PPD, and am trying to get back down so that hopefully baby #2 will come as easily. Good luck to all!!
