| Nachos are a huge DONT DO IT! okay? just dont, if you must have something snacky, eat nuts... but really, if you eat before you go, you shouldnt need to snack right? and it wont matter if somethings at dinner are "illegal" because you'll already be full. Alcohol, no, nothings available on induction, but it you're gonna drink as it sounds like you are, stick with wines or spirits. stay away from the beer! Disclaimer: This is NOT how Atkins should be done, but its the best option if you're going to do it anyway.

| I agree with Emma...eat before you go...you'll be full and only have a little at the dinner. Alcohol isn't allowed until run 5 of OWL, so as far as drinking goes...you could always volunteer to be the designated driver...that way, you have an excuse for not drinking. | I'll join the chorus of "don'ts", and ditto the advice you've already had here. These sorts of parties are difficult it's true, but not impossible. Just think how great you'll feel the day after, if you stick to plan and come through unscathed... and how horrid/disappointed you'll feel if you don't. Ask yourself if it's worth sabotaging your efforts so far. Whatever you decide, have fun at the party.

| Eating before you get there certainly helps. Abstinance is always best, as the many women of ADBB point out, but: it's good to have a backup plan, safety net, "bend but not break" option if you feel up against it. Bear in mind that (dry) red wine has about 4 carbs in a glass, white wine about 2. Chicken wings are not a bad way to go if you must have a bar snack. Most of what's on nachos or pizza isn't too bad carb-wise except for the actual chips. Good luck, and bring plenty of dollar bills.

| Strictly speaking, hard liquors with zero-carb mixers are zero carbs, less than white wine. But I think it's easier to spin out of control on the hard booze. You don't want to wake up next morning with an empty pie tin in your bed.
