How annoying about the breading. I went out for chinese recently and had hot and sour soup followed by some steamed seabass (delicious) and beef with chillis and chinese vegetables. It was lovely. I drank jasmine tea with it and it was a nice treat. I was surprised as I have always avoided Chinese restaurants since doing this WOE. Having said that, there are more friendly cuisines out there if you have a choice! x

hot and sour soup uses corn starch, doesn't it? My favourite soup is actually Thai and not Chinese and is called Tom Yum Gai. mmmm Tom yum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Most chinese foods use cornstarch - even stir fries. Thai is a much better bet and they usually dont use the starch. Curries there use coconut milk which is low in carbs and things like satay, tom yum soups, Thai beef salad, all good and legal.

I always order moo goo GI pan and I know I spelled that wrong. When I get it how I dump it in a collender and rinse with hot water them pop in it the microwave still get the food without the starch.
