| Buffalo wings are really easy to make: buy some wing sections + a bottle of Frank's Red Hot Sauce + some butter. Bake wings at 425 for 1 hour. Melt 1/3 c. butter and add 1/2 c. Frank's Hot Sauce (makes enough for 2 1/2 #s of wings). Mix together in a big bowl. Plate wings and serve sauce on the side for additional dipping. Serve with Marie's Blue Cheese dressing (in the produce refrigerated section) and celery sticks. These are the original buffalo wings. No breading, sugars, chemicals, etc.

| I fry wings in a skillet (olive oil) until they are done, then I put them in Frank's and melted butter, toss them around and put them back in a dry skillet until the sauce is set on the wing....this is the way the restaurant in Western NY I ate them at did them.....sometimes I don't even bother putting them in the dry skillet - I eat them with the sauce dripping from them -- that's actually better. I don't like blue cheese dressing so I always have them with celery sticks and ranch dressing....it's a favorite meal of mine!!

| Oh boy...frying them is the Original original! Super good that way. Been meaning to try that some day but I guess I always seem to take the easy bake option.

| I fry them as well, but, when I make them it's usually for 10+ people so I have to do several batches. I use a large stock pot and oil to deep fry. Same butter and Frank's sauce mixture as above. I also like them without sauce. I'm trying to come up with a good curry sauce idea next. I'm thinking curry paste, melted butter and a wee bit of hot sauce for a little spice. |

Hope you do try the fried version - they are so much better than baked.

Seriously though, I don't think frying or especially deep frying is all that popular here. It's a regional thing I think. I never had fried chicken (there are no fried chicken places except for the occasional KFC and that doesn't count) until I went down South. Oh boy, they fried almost everything...even veggies. Tasty stuff! Most meats here are simply prepared: baked, roasted, grilled, etc. We lean more to sauteing in some oil rather than real frying. I guess it's just what I'm used to after all these years. I'm thinking though...I can now have fried chicken livers. OMG those are so good...used to have them a lot when I lived in Baltimore. OK...so I WILL fry some things.

I've been in the New England area 3 times in the past year and you're right, other than fish and chips there was not much friend stuff going on. |
