Default Help! Need Chicken Wings in NYC

Hey Everyone,

Anyone know a good place to order Baked Chicken Wings in NY? Looks like everything is Buffalo Wings with Bread/Sauce.

Looking for something like Wing Machine in Toronto...

Thanks!!

I am not too familiar with places in NY; however, most places that serve Buffalo Wings are usually unbreaded. I always ask that they make my wings dry (NO SAUCE). They taste just as good without all of the messy sauce and most important no breading!! Wing Dings are usually the ones that are breaded at least here in NJ they are. Also Papa Johns does have Buffalo Wings that are baked (very good for us), if you order them just be sure to tell them no sauce!!! With Hot Sauce 2 wings have 1g of carb 1g sugar With BBQ Sauce 2 wings have 3g sugar 4g carbs.

I hope this helps you a little.

Buffalo wings are really easy to make: buy some wing sections + a bottle of Frank's Red Hot Sauce + some butter. Bake wings at 425 for 1 hour. Melt 1/3 c. butter and add 1/2 c. Frank's Hot Sauce (makes enough for 2 1/2 #s of wings). Mix together in a big bowl. Plate wings and serve sauce on the side for additional dipping. Serve with Marie's Blue Cheese dressing (in the produce refrigerated section) and celery sticks.

These are the original buffalo wings. No breading, sugars, chemicals, etc. Frank's Hot Sauce has zero calories/carbs per 1 tsp. so it's pretty low.

I fry wings in a skillet (olive oil) until they are done, then I put them in Frank's and melted butter, toss them around and put them back in a dry skillet until the sauce is set on the wing....this is the way the restaurant in Western NY I ate them at did them.....sometimes I don't even bother putting them in the dry skillet - I eat them with the sauce dripping from them -- that's actually better.

I don't like blue cheese dressing so I always have them with celery sticks and ranch dressing....it's a favorite meal of mine!!

Oh boy...frying them is the Original original! Super good that way. Been meaning to try that some day but I guess I always seem to take the easy bake option.

I fry them as well, but, when I make them it's usually for 10+ people so I have to do several batches. I use a large stock pot and oil to deep fry. Same butter and Frank's sauce mixture as above.

I also like them without sauce.

I'm trying to come up with a good curry sauce idea next. I'm thinking curry paste, melted butter and a wee bit of hot sauce for a little spice.

There is no reason why we can't fry foods -- I notice you still also use a George Foreman -- I kicked that to the curb soon after I started Atkins -- the fats are necessary for us -- and they make our food taste SO much better.....I'll never go back to dry or Forman cooked foods...

Hope you do try the fried version - they are so much better than baked.

But I LOVE my Foreman grill!!! What I REALLY love now is that I can have butter or real sauces on top of my meats/poultry/fish. What a huge difference taste-wise.

Seriously though, I don't think frying or especially deep frying is all that popular here. It's a regional thing I think. I never had fried chicken (there are no fried chicken places except for the occasional KFC and that doesn't count) until I went down South. Oh boy, they fried almost everything...even veggies. Tasty stuff! Most meats here are simply prepared: baked, roasted, grilled, etc. We lean more to sauteing in some oil rather than real frying. I guess it's just what I'm used to after all these years.

I'm thinking though...I can now have fried chicken livers. OMG those are so good...used to have them a lot when I lived in Baltimore. OK...so I WILL fry some things.

I've been in the New England area 3 times in the past year and you're right, other than fish and chips there was not much friend stuff going on.

I grew up on "fried chicken" -- my mother put enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.....we never deep fried chicken or any other foods and I honestly don't like foods prepared that way. I have been "frying" chicken, pork chops, wings, just about every meat we eat since starting. I use olive oil or coconut oil - very healthy oils, so I have no problem with using them to fry our foods.
