| Doesn't look like much food to me :yikes Can you list quantities and which actual vegetables you had? Why no dressing with the salad? You might be having too much protein compared to fat - this is a highfat diet - not a highprotein WOE :no Have you entered the list into www.fitday.com to see what your percentages are? We aim at 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs on induction.

| Hi Sky, It IS important to include fats in your meals. Fats not only come in the form of butter, oil and on meat, it also comes hidden in omega-3s in fish like salmon, monounsaturated in avocado, and in cheese. I can definitely confirm that some days I eat nearly 3,000 cals (like double what I should be eating for my height & weight, but because I have 65% fats or more, I actually still lose weight. As the mods say, it IS important to have 65% fats, 30% protein and 5% carbs Cheers

| Your percentages should all add up to 100%...(65fats+30protein+5carbs=100)so this isn't making sense. Check them out on fitday, as it lays it all out nicely for you. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=66107 What stage of Atkins are you on? I thought you said Induction....if so, carrots are not allowed. Many things concern me here... You said 'no carb vegetables'...I don't think there is such a thing. You said you had a 'dinner plate size worth of lettuce' -was it iceberg? Iceberg has little to no nutritional value..try romaine, leaf or raw spinach so your body gets more nutrients and fiber. You need the fat from the dressing, so get some Italian, ranch or blue cheese and drizzle it on. Also, are you staying within your 3 cups of veggies a day limits? I have to ask you if you've read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short)? If you haven't, you need to get yourself a copy and give it a read, paying particular attention to the chapter on Induction. If you do have the book, take a few moments and review Induction, the Rules, and the Acceptable Foods list. Two pounds gone is two pounds gone :yes but you need to make sure you're following the plan as Dr. Atkins laid it out in order to get the best results. Read this as well: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=63916 |

| Ah...yes, the 'no carb vegetables' makes sense now...lol So your carbs were a bit low there, as you can see, but you did great on fat and protein....you can up the carbs by choosing slightly higher carb veggies from the lists. Looks like you're doing great...just keep on doing what you're doing (no more carrots though!) and post a few more menus and we'll see how you are doing, ok? :yes |
