| I'm a little confused. Are you in induction? Have you read the book? Flax seed is not acceptable for induction, it's not until the nuts and grains rung. I think this is what most people are going to see: splenda, sweeteners, and artificial chocolates! They may've worked for you on for a week while your body was dumping water weight, but if you have problems with hypoglycemia then it's not a good idea to trick your body into thinking you're eating something sweet when you aren't (needless to say, you're only allowed three servings per day in induction). Cut those out especially and see how that works out for you; that means no Diet Right either. Those bars are full of junk and porkrinds are limited to about a half of cup per day--they're full of sodium. Just because it's splenda, doesn't mean it doesn't count!

| Flaxseed is permissible on induction - to be used to help ease constipation. But as others said, there's a lot of artificial sweeteners on your post, and a lot of artificial foods. The chocolates and bars can and will stall you. Also, where are your three cups of induction veggies a day? You can do things during induction and still lose weight that will stall you later on. Induction shocks the body, and you'll lose the initial weight even if you screw up a little bit. (I actually ate some hidden sugar on veggies by accident during induction and still lost weight.) So cut out the artificial stuff and up your vegetables and see what happens. Good luck!

| Thanks for clarifying about the flax, lawyer. I meant to say that MUCH flax is not allowed until later own.

| I thanks for the input. I only have the flax seed meal once a day. I don't know why that would be a problem being as it is strait fiber. I also have irritable bowl and gastritis so the fiber is pretty important. But, I can see the point on the splenda. I did not realize that splenda effected insilin at all? I know that did not have to be that strict with it my first time around but, obviously it is going to be harder this time. If I eat more than a cup of veggies a day I gain. I really do have extreme metobilic resistance. This is something that even doctors agree with me on. Are the shakes that bad? I only have one a day of that as well? Either as breakfast or a snack, Not both. |

| The shakes/sweeteners are a problem for some people and not for others. I drank the shakes for awhile when I was working a job where I had to be at work by 6 and didn't have access to a microwave. For the 6 months I drank them, I maintained. So, if you're stalling, try cutting out the shakes and see what happens. If you have metabolic resistance, then you need to be particularly careful. I'd give vegetables another try, too. You may see a temporary water gain from some of the induction vegetables (I usually do from broccoli and cauliflower) but over the long term, you should lose if you're getting the 3 cups of vegetables, not gain, because it will help keep your ratios in correct proportion. And yes, many people find it's a lot harder to lose the second time around.

| I added some green pepper and a (little) chopped onion to my omlet this morning. I am going to make a chicken salad for dinner tonight. I will skip the shakes for a couple of days, add a little more veggie and see what happens. I think I will also skip the broc. and coli for a while as well. Though have not had that in a couple weeks, I have to say last time I had the coli I was up in weight the very next day. Thanks for the advice. Peace to all, Karen |

| Flaxseed isn't bad sprinkled on top of a salad. Or, you can make a mock danish and put 2-3 T in there. I also kinda like it straight.
