Default worried too many calories

I am worried I am eating too many calories. Check my menu please
Breakfast:2 eggs scrambled with about 1-2 0z sausage
Lunch: 4-5 ounces chicken not breaded but deep fried b/c its quick
either 2 cups salad with no carb dressing or stemed veggies
Dinner: Turkey tacos-2 low carb taco shells with turkey, cheese, sour cream, and somtimes olives.
When I don't have taco shells and Have like a steak I have more salad or stemed veggies.
I also eat a little of the sugar free candy for a snack or after dinner. I only drink water and try to drink a lot of it. more than 64 oz. a day
I deep fry the chicken I eat often because it is fast, I eat mayonaise, full fat cheese, olives, sour cream, and a lot of butter. I am watching the carbs close but I am worried about all the calories I am taking in. I know the book says not to and it also says not to try to do a low fat version of Atkins or it will not work. I am just not losing fast at all so please help.

Well you aren't losing fast because of the 'low carb' candies. You must think of them as regular candy. They will slow or stall your weight loss. Also, the 'low carb' taco shells are not good either. Do you have the book? Try ditching the 'low carb' products and eat only healthy food for two weeks, then see how you are doing.

Having low carb taco shells once a week or so is not okay? Anyone else have an opinion? And yes I do have the book. As I recall mine is filled with recipies in the back using many many low carb products. I do not use them often but I do some.

Sugar free candies and low carb taco shells will drastically effect your weight loss. And whilst you are eating these you will not get the best from the Atkins way of life.

I suggest you get hold of a copy of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) 2002 version and read it.

Good luck.

Rich

I do have the book. It does not restrict all low carb products like I said. It even suggests low carb stuff in the sample menu. I am not saying often but I am saying every once in a while. If that was not on Atkins then why did he make all the products?

What stage of the diet are you currently on?

There is a lot of stuff on higher rungs of OWL that you can't eat on Induction. It has been proven by many people on this site that 'low carb' (frankenfoods) junk will stall or slow down your weight loss. I am sorry if that isn't what you want to hear, but it is true.

You know there is no need to be rude saying I don't want to hear that. I was simply asking if occasionally it was okay there is just no need for the rudeness.

This is a very friendly board and everyone wants to help out. I don't believe Sunflowergrl meant to be hurtful. Please don't take offense where none is intended. But the harsh reality is, if you want to be successful, you have to ditch the low carb foods for now. We want you to be successful. Good luck.
