Red face Re: New w/ Atkins, Please help in Menu

Howdy,

I'm brand new to the diet starting yesterday.

So far, my meal plan this week consists of chicken breast strips stir-fried with broccoli, onions and maybe some bell peppers (and Terriyaki and Soy sauce of course, and garlic, cause there's no point in cooking without garlic).

Any ideas how I might be able to expand on that or maybe kick it up a notch?

Default Re: Started yesterday!

Are you eating this at every meal? According to the list of allowed induction foods you need to eat 2 cups of the 2-3 cup list (which included peppers) and only one cup of the 1-cup list (including broccolli and onions)

you might start to get bored with that selection, so take another look at both lists and think about adding some alternatives

According to www.fitday.com one CLOVE of garlic contains nearly one carb - so make sure you count your carbs for how much garlic you are eating - a couple of roasted heads of garlic would account for your whole 20 net carbs if you dont watch it!!

You are eating regularly I hope - not more than 6 hours without eating something, and work on spreading your carbs across your meals/snacks too.

Maybe you could list your typical menu for a day, showing quantities of each food eaten at which meal to allow a more informed opinion of your food intake?

Oh - and check the list of ingredients of any sauces to make sure you are not eating many added sugars!
