| So how much did you lose on your 14 -days? If you have 15 pounds in total to lose and were starting from a 'normal (highcarb) regime you ought to expect 5%-10% loss in those 2 weeks - about 3/4 to 1 and a 1/2 pounds. If you were already lowcarbing but overeating your maintenance foods then I assume you would not get that intial 'woosh' as you would not have much water weight to lose. Your choice of foods looks fine to me as long as your veggies add up to the allowed 3 cups and your fat/protein/carbs ratios are around the 65%/30%/5% mark.

| Hi! Your posts are always helpful!! I'm now in day 9. I've lost 3-4 lbs - maybe. I was in maintenance for years, but marginalized myself up 10 lbs since Thanksgiving/Christmas/etc. I had an awful weekend a few weeks ago that started w/a sugar crash - that put on a rapid extra 5lbs. Today's menu was: Cheese Omelette for breakfast. Salad w/lean corned beef on top for lunch. A few tomatoes in salad. Roast chicken & a blue cheese salad for dinner. 1 peice of cheese for snack. Several cups of green tea during the day (note - ZERO COFFEE FOR A CHANGE!) I'll eventually decaf some of the green tea. Lots of water. |

| woo hoo 3-4 pounds for a needs to lose 15 pounder is a whopping 20-26% loss already. that is a great return to induction loss. So what you doing for your mandatory exercise part of your Atkins? and did that slack off too? cause it it did then you know those muscles are screaming about having to workso hard to save you and that they got to have more stored supplies like extra fluid ( known as super hydrating) so they can save you which hinders all scale weight loss even when inches of fat can be measured as having left the body until the muscles get used to their new work load. So how many inches you shed this week? Keep hanging in there. good job nipping the regain in the bud. Less then 10% of those who make it to goal are still there.

Thanks!! Y'know - some few changes and a few more pounds just went wooossshhh. The biggest change was dumping coffee & decaf coffee for green tea. I swear that stuff must be magic. I still have much, much work to do. I haven't mastered the art of the business dinner. I was travelling - out to dinner - and had a sugar crash. Leads to some messy eating. But I was glad to see weight moving off again!! |
