Cool How am I doing with this?

My weight loss has slowed down and when I look at what I've really eaten I see where my problems are - too much cheese, too much sour cream a couple days, probably eating too much overall. (Also slacking on my exercise, but that's another thread!)

I sat down and planned my eating for today and plugged it into fitday to see what would happen. I'm pleased with the numbers, but I want to see what you think about the food and just everything overall. I know the steak for two meals would get boring, but I don't want to leave it in the fridge for too long.. LOL. I think I'll post this every day for a few days just to see what you think.

Breakfast:

2 eggs scrambled in 1 tsp butter, sprinkled with Parmesan
1 slice onion

Lunch:

3.5 oz of a grilled t-bone steak (half the steak)
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes

Dinner:

other half of my steak 3.5 oz
1 cup romaine - no dressing

Snack:

1 1/2 cup sliced cucumbers

This came out to 65% fat / 5 % carbs / 30 % protein. 17 carbs for the day

I love the way fitday works and will keep doing it... but I don't want to get obsessed with making the numbers come out right.

Any comments will be much appreciated!

It looks fine to me cristy!

I sometimes have the same meals twice in one day because either that is all I have in the fridge or because I want to use the ingredients up, so dont fret about that as long as you are not restricting yourself to the same food over and over again.

It is good to mix it up to make sure you are getting a variety of nutrients as well as to make sure you dont develop 'allergies' to one tyoe of food.

That doesn't look like much food to me. How is that 17 carbs? Are you not deducting fiber?

OK, you are counting 6 carbs for your 1 slice of onion. 6 carbs is for a whole small onion. 1 slice of onion, subtracting the fiber is less than 1 carb.
Doesn't look like enough fat to me. No dressing on your salad? You are going to be hungry girl!!

No, I didn't deduct any fiber. And I didn't even notice that it said 6 carbs for one slice of onion.... geez... that's not right! LOL See, I knew I was going to be obsessed with making those numbers come out right. And to be honest, I WAS a little hungry last night but I tried to drown that feeling with water. Thanks for the input and I'll try to do better with this today.

Ohhh... and I couldn't help getting on the scales this morning... I lost 3 pounds! I was on and off there 4 times to make sure that number didn't change!

I'll edit this one as the day goes on and put the percentages at the end of the day:

Breakfast:

2 eggs in 1 pat butter
3 slices bacon
1/4 cup cherry tomatoes

Lunch:

burger on the grill 5 oz
1/2 cup sliced zucchini
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tsp butter

Dinner:

sausage patty 4 oz
1 cup cucumber slices
1/2 cup lettuce

Metamucil sugar free - 5 carbs, 3 grams of fiber per teaspoon... that would be 2 net carbs to count in the daily total?

Look like I'm high on the fat today.... the sausage wasn't such a good idea.

71% / 26% / 3% Net carbs 16 counting the fiber I took.

(On fitday it lists...." chicken, meatless, NFS"... wtf? meatless chicken? What
is that?? LOL !)

Looks better though, at least I am not thinking you are starving LOL.
Why are you taking metamucil? Because you NEED it? Or because you think you should?
You can get Flaxmeal and incorporate that into your foods if you are needing extra fiber.
Still no dressings? Do you like your salad veggies plain? I'm just curious.....

LOL..I've never starved a day in my life! Today I needed the Metamucil which is rare so that won't happen very often. I was going to have some dressing today but I got worrying about already having too much fat for the day with that number at 71%. I have some Newman's Oil and Vinegar dressing with no sugar that I really like so I need to start having that.

And I appreciate the advice..... I want this to work and know how to do it right. I need to prove to myself that I can do this.

I'm going to post here again another day or two and then maybe move this to journal stats. It seems to be helping me to actually put it out here on the board.

Breakfast:
Omlette -
2 eggs
3 slices bacon
1/2 cup green pepper
1/2 cup mushrooms
2 tsp butter

Lunch:
6 oz can tuna
2 TBSP mayo
1 green onion
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
6 olives

Dinner:
4 oz sausage patty
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
1 cup cucumber slices

Snack:
1 oz cheddar cheese

http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=cristylp

So far it's 67% / 5% / 28%.
