Default I am so mad/sad/frustrated..........

I am posting a few days menus for review and critique please. I have been on since 4/9 and lost pretty good during induction (4 # out of a total goal of 14.5#) But then I went back up (TOM, splenda/aspartame issues ? etc) Then I got back down a little (finished TOM) but back up again this morning. I exercise (weights and various cardio) in general 4-5 times a week. I do not have a lot to lose but I can not seem to get through this major HUMP in my weight loss. I got down to 124.5 during induction -then went back up to 128. I gave up diet pop and other "sweets" for a week to see if that was making a difference. I am stuck between 125 and 126. I told my DH he may find the bathroom window broken and the scale on the lawn one of these days...

Hi there,

Please don't despair! I think you are experiencing these problems because you are so close to your goal. Weight loss does fluctuate over the weeks for all kinds of reasons. I have around the same amount to lose as you and I am maintaining or losing very gradually (can't tell). At this point you need to take a long term view (I realise that is is frustrating particularly as you had little to lose in the first place), in order to stop from going crazy.

I have decided to go on my 6 week exercise challenge results of weight and measurement because of this slow down.

Your menu looks fine to me. Just a few comments - check salami for sugars and other additives. Possibly you aren't eating enough calories for your BMR? This can also halt weight loss. It would be worth seeing a fitday breakdown of your food and exercise.

Also, how long have you been on the dairy rung and at 35ish g carbs? Moving up can also break a stall.

Good luck

cut out the coffee with cream and see if that makes a difference. I, personally, have problems with coffee. Check EVERYTHING you put into your mouth. Food, beverages, supplements, etc.

I just recently found out that the "UNSWEETENED" tea I've been drinking for 10 months has high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup in it. I cut it out and have gone from 194 to 187 in 1 week. Had one **** of a headache for 4 days...but I'm over it now and just finally glad to know that I think I found my problem.

I will give up the coffee (God help me) and see how I do. I had gone to drinking it with just cream - dropped the splenda. I went 7 days with no splenda /diet pop etc. at all but with TOM ending it is hard to tell what is real weight loss and what is related to diet. Two nights ago I had a diet pepsi and twice I used stevia - once in coffee and once with this pumpkin concoction. I feel so frustrated, every time I turn around I have to give up something else. I know nothing good comes without a fight but I am fighting and not winning right now. I would feel better about the sacrifices if I was getting somewhere, ya know? (I am whining - sorry!)

dimar97,

Give up the diet pepsi, and the cheeses. I'm guessing you'll start the weight loss again. Don't turn your back on coffee, coffee has been good to you, coffee is your friend!
