| walls sausages are a big no no! look at the nutritional info! they have tonnes of fillers in! in fact most sausages in england are a no no, marks' used to do a 100% pork one that was okay but ive not seen it in a while. when you said you had lots of fats what were the percentages? it is normal to be high in fat on this WOE, in fact it should be! what are you scrambling your eggs with? not milk right?

| Emma is right - most British 'bangers' are full of breadcrumbs or starches! I buy bratwurst or other german sausages which are mainly meat (99% usually) with just added spices instead. Lately I have been making crustless quiches with cheese/eggs/cream/cooked meat/veggies and having a slice of this for breakfast and on-the-go snacks. Sometimes I make Pau's breakfast miniquiches in muffin tins (recipe for this is in our recipes database - link in my signature) Another b/f food I often have is ham/cheese rollups made using a slice of ham and slice of gouda cheese rolled together to make an easy quick 'finger food'. With a few cherry tomatoes and a couple of these it makes a satisfying meal for me first thing.

| Thanks guys! Will give the sausages a miss then in future - it didn't even occur to me that they would be bad! Is sausage meat ok if you buy it from the butchers? Just wondering whether I could make sausage meat patties or spicy meatballs?? Mind you I could use minced pork instead right! The scrambled eggs were just eggs and butter in a pan - sooooo good and creamy! actually I could add some sour cream to them for a smoother consistency - but no milk! Love the idea of cheese/ham rolls and the pastry-less quiche. Might give them a whirl tonight. Yesterday's fit day showed 81 % fat, 15% protein, 4% carb Today's is 32% fat, 64% protein, 4% carbs Thanks xx |

| not sure on the sausage meat, best bet is to ask! percentages dont look great for either day really hun what you need to do really is when you are eating white meats, cook them with added fats, when its red meats dont, they have enough fat to them anyway... You should be heading for 65% fat 5% Carbs 30% protein, it doesnt take much to change these around! so today you could do with changing something... cook your chicken in butter? add a couple of tablespoons of butter to your fitday and see what that comes in at

| DOH!!! Please tell me this WOE gets easier!! Just been to waitrose to get some ham & cheese for brekkie - well all the packaged hams have sugars or dextrose or corn syrups added!!! WTF!! Opted for one off the deli counter that wasn't honey roasted and appeared to not have anything added (except maybe a bit of water)! Is that ok? Also looked at pre-packed cooked chicken breasts - guess what loads of sugars added!! Just makes you realise what you've been putting in your face without realising it!!! So am I right in thinking that pre-packaged anything is a no, and that I should be buying raw cuts of meat and cooking them myself??? just added 4 tablespoons of butter to tonight's chicken still puts my % as 62% fats 2% carbs 38% protein ... is that ok or do I need to re-jigg my menu some more!!! |
