| Wow that was different. I don't like it. It was new. I don't care for "new" In a few days in may love it I did notice it gives not just whole numbers for carbs etc. I liked that. And I liked the quick nutrition break option.

| I am trying to post a Flax meal muffin on Fitday and I can't seem to locate it. I believe it is 1 carb but it is reading many more. Any hints? Thanks.

| I've just been on fitday - how good is that?! Elisabeth said "I have just started taking 10 - 20 gms of fibre per day in the form of Whole Psyllium Husks in order to reduce my total carb intake....as carbs less fibre equals the net carb result which is what I need to know." I have worked out my daily carb intake is 34g minus dietary fibre of 9g which makes my net carbs 25g (great for my stage of OWL). I am also taking psyllium husks in the form of tablets. Do they reduce my net carbs to lower than 25g? Surely just taking the tablets isn't improving my weight loss is it? |

For any baked goods or other recipes you probably will not find any entries already in fitday.com so you will need to add your own 'custom entry'. The way I used to do this was to go to a new page in fitday and enter all the ingredients I had used. Then look at the total nutrition information as well as the vitamins/mineral content of the ingredients. I then made a note of all the totals or opened a new tab or window and left that information available on the current tab/window. Then went to the new tab/window, chose 'new custom food', called it by the recipe name (Flax Meal Muffin) and said how many servings it made then typed in all the nutrition info then clicked 'save' Then when I ate it I could select the name from the list of custom entries and log how many servings I ate and the info would be there. Nowadays I have the off-line version which allows me to open a new custom entry and drag the ingredients into it and save it, which saves a lot of time but when I was using the online fitday it didnt take too long and only has to be done once for each recipe..

| No - you are right, taking something very high in fibre won't decrease your net carb number as you are adding the total carbs then deducting the fibre carbs - so if the husks have per tablespoon 6.5 total carbs including 6.5 fibre carbs then it is adding to your fibre carb intake but not affecting your net carbs at all.
