| I'd like to help if I can, but what stage (or rung) of Atkins are you currently? Also, how much have you lost and how much do you have to lose? And, finally, how long have you been stalled? |

| Your food choices seem ok for induction (if that is the phase of Atkins you are on) As for quantities etc, as Creek said, we need more input Also your height might help give us an idea of your body type.

| Thanks ladies. I am on extended induction. I have been on Atkins since the beginning of March and have lost 36 pounds. This is my second time around and it seems like I am constantly fighting my way out of a stall. I am 5 ft 3 and would like to lose at least 15 more pounds until my goal. I really am working my butt off exercising and controlling my portions. I was told maybe I should move up a rung to see if it will get the losing on a roll again. I am going to wait one more week and I guess add more food's. I appreciate your help. Thanks Nichole |

| Nichole - many people who extend their induciton in the hopes of losing weight quickly do experience a slowdown or even a halt in losses especially if they dont have something like 50 plus pounds left to lose. It might sound odd - but I agree you need to start adding carbs now in order to progress through the next phase of Atkins. Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) is supposed to be the main weightloss phase, where you will learn how many carbs and which foods you can eat and still lose - and discover your individual CCLL (critical carb level for losing) Dr Atkins suggested we should have done this and be ready to move to the next phase of Atkins (premaintenance) by the time we have only 5-10 pounds left to lose, so you don't really have that much time to spare!!

| I agree with Elizellen. You've done very well if you've lost 36 pounds in 12 weeks (that's 3 pounds/week average). Twelve weeks of Induction is just too long for someone with 48 pounds to lose. You risk lowering your BMR. |
