| Most of your carbs should come from veggies if you are on induction. But that is not the case in your menu. You are eating three cups of veggies but they are all lettuce so very unsubstantial stuff. Perhaps try to introduce some other veggies from the allowed lists so you can get more carbs. Did you add milk or cream to the scrambled eggs? They would not have quite that many carbs without it. On fitday I refrain from using their prepared dishes when I enter food and instread enter the raw ingredients. Often fitday assume you add something to the dish that you may not.

| I am looking at fitday now. I guess when they do their carbs, they arent the way we do them. They have me at like 17, I have calculated only 9. I didnt use my own things, just what they have, so that is why the carbs seem so high. As for the vegetables, I usually have a squash or something, but tonight I have to use the bok choy so I cant really add a higher carb vegetable in. I have the standard 2 cups lettuce (romaine), and the remaining cup is the bok choy. So, yes, I am having the right amount of vegetables, but at only 9 carbs today, it seemed okay to me. Maybe I should post what I had with the proper carb values? Thanks. (I totally heard what you said about the vegetables, even though I neglected to mention it and will have spaghetti squash or something tomorrow. Thanks for the input.) | Okay, so here is the right amount of carbs and such. Sorry, I didnt realize the amounts on fitday were so different than my Atkins book. 2 eggs 1.2 carbs 1T cream .3 carbs 1t butter 3 bacon .1 carbs 1 oz cheese .4 carbs 1T salsa 1 carb 1.5c romaine .6 carbs 1 oz cheese .4 carbs 5 oz chicken 1t butter .5c romaine .2 carbs 5 oz beef 1T canola oil *3T soy sauce 3 carbs *(is a marinade, excess drained off) *.5 clove garlic .5 carbs *green onion 1 carb 1c bok choy .4 carbs 1/2 oz cheese .2 I get approx 8.4 carbs today. I have redone this 4 times now, and it doesnt even seem right. |

| I always go with fitday. It may not always be perfect counting but I think it is good enough. No matter how you do it the main issue with your menu right now is that you want to think about increasing those veggie carbs a bit and eat other veggies than just lettuce. Other than that I think it is pretty good. Are you seeing any losses of inches or pounds?

| Hi. Yes, I am loosing inches and pounds. I check every few days on the scale (Hi. My name is Sam and I have a scale problem. Haha.) and once a week with the measuring, and this week I have lost 4 pounds in 4 days. Sometimes I get a little crazy with the carbs and eat the lowest things I can and try to have the lowest carbs I can manage, and then try to justify it, so thanks for staying on that vegetable thing. Have some pretty spaghetti squash for tonight. Thanks again for your input and time, and the little vegetable voice you put in my head! |

| Ok, forget the spaghetti squash today. That is tomorrow. Here is today and I think I did the best I could with what I have on hand. I will get the hang of this. Last time, though I was successful with Atkins, have the books, etc., I didnt have the ratios right and it was a constant struggle, so just trying to make sure I am getting the most out of the program. Thanks again. http://fitday.com/fitness/PublicJournals.html?Owner=surreys_princess |

The old online fitday used to have a tab called 'ingredients' where they itemised all the ingredients in something like an omelette so you could tell if you had chosen the best option for what you had eaten and choose a different category if they had added something you didn't use in yours, but that seems to have gone with the upgrade ;( So in future use the basic ingredients instead to get a better result.
