Cool Plateaued and decided to start Atkins

First of all I do have the book, I've been reading alot on this forum and its quite evident that the book is a must. I'm in desperate need of help to lose weight. I found my first love of 25 years ago and we're in the process of getting back together. We plan on being together in July. He hasn't seen me for 25 years. I've sent pictures but mostly face shots. When I first found him I weighed 205 lbs, I'm 5'6", and I started an exercise and diet routine that in 1 month dropped me to 185. I know the first lbs are the easiest but I can't seem to get past that plateau. My parents lost alot of weight on Atkins so I decided I'd start. I'm on my 3rd day of induction and I haven't weighed myself yet but I wanted an input on my diet.

B'fast= 2 sausage patties and 2 eggs
Lunch= Pork loin chop and Broccoli with mayonaise
Dinner= A can of tuna with a generous amount of mayo with lettuce

I haven't been that hungry but if I do need a snack its a couple sticks of celery with tuna and mayo.

I drink approximately 125 oz's of water and 64 oz's of iced tea but light tea. I do have the keto sticks but they're in storage which I'm gonna retrieve today but I thought I could use some feedback on my diet so far. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. My goal is 140-145 by July 09!!

I also exercise regularly running 2-5 miles on the treadmill and I'm gonna start a strengthening program today....

Let me know if you have any suggestions....Thanks, Denise

That is such a romantic story. Loved it.

It is hard to comment too much on your menu as you do not add amounts. But it looks pretty good to me though. Running 5 miles it pretty impressive. Way to go.

One small concern I have, you are not eating enough veggies. But that would depends somewhat on how much lettuce and broccoli you eat. Two cups veggies and one cup broccoli would be the amount Atkins suggested.

The other small concern I would have is about your ice tea. It has a sweetener, right? And you do want to limit your sweeteners.

I don't use sweetner and its white/green tea. I eat about a cup of broccolli and about a cup of lettuce with 2-3 celery stalks. I went to the fitday.com and thats an awesome tool to see how your %'s are. I'm pretty close at 61/34/4 I would totally reccommend others to use that site.
I'm definately motivated!! Today is my 4th day so Im really tempted to weigh myself!! I've been really struggling to get past 185 Its driving me crazy, actually threw my scale once !! I'm taking before pics tomorrow and posting those. The before and after section is really motivating and inspiring!! Thanks for your input!!

I see you are still not losing. Are you measuring for inches?

How many calories are you eating daily?
What kind of diet did you do previously?

Accorcing to fitday today I've had 1900 calories. Yesterday about 1200, the day before 1500. Today I 've been hungry and adding butter and bacon which accounts for alot of the calories. I'm not feeling well like, weak and tired. I haven't been to the gym in 2 days!! The other diet I was on was basically the opposite of Atkins where I was counting calories and about 800-1000 a day. No food was off limits, someone reccommended Atkins which is fairly easy for me cuz I'm a meat and veggie girl anyway. Its only been 5 days today so everyone keeps saying to be patient. I'm gonna stick to it for the full 2 weeks and keep ya posted but any help you got, I'll take!!

The calories look good. Somewhere between 1200 and 2000 sounds good to me. The important is to eat till satisfied.
guessing. You're not taking any meds that may be stalling you?

Yes being patient is probably a good idea. Your body needs to adjust somewhat I am guessing. Great attitude. It is not always easy to be patient when you are looking to lose those pounds.

I have always been told the way to get the scale moving is to only drink water and to not drink any other type of beverages. Perhaps if you try it for a couple of days it may help you.
