| Forum moderators always bear bad news... Just kiddin' !!! Yeah, my word selection was poor, but I'll elaborate... For most of the cheese that is solid and you can cut, the smallest portion on the "Nutrition Facts" label is 28g (1oz), so if the cheese says that there's zero carbs in each portion, it is safe to assume that it has at most 1g per portion, that is, per ounce. So if Pepper-Jack (which can't be measured in ml or table spoons) cheese SAYS zero-carb, the dieter should take each ounce as 1g, since that's the worst case scenario. So... what I meant was to make sure it SAYS zero-carb and count each ounce as 1 carb since it can't be higher if it says zero, otherwise it would say 1 or 2... or 10 (run away screaming and waving your arms if you see those) Cookiecate, Well, you're close to Spain (closer than me, anyway), I'm sure you can get good spanish chorizo, you can take a couple of stir-fried (don't botter adding oil) slices with you. Actually, for dinner I just had a pork chop with a little chorizo and mustard... sounds weird but oh boy... it was delicious... and eggs with chorizo is a popular breakfast here in Mexico.... I think that's what I'll have tomorrow!!! Can you smell that? Yum yum!!!

| I am particularly fond of yogurt but again I will have to be very careful that it has no sugar added. My husband will be pleased to add the milk as he believes that the only way to drink tea is with milk and he misses his very British cuppa. I hear what you are saying Joe, I do have to be careful, chorizo is very popular over here and there are some sausages that try to pass themselves off as the great chorizo but if you look at the label (those bloomin labels) actually say chorizo TYPE. Real chorizo are more difficult to get especially where I live where they consider garlic to be a bit foreign. In London or at least more south of where I am they get a fabulous selection of sausage from South and North Africa, and all over Europe. Oh for a decent deli I even have problems finding decent ethnic foods as although the supermarkets are national they sell what is wanted locally and here it is very provincial. |

| We fluctuate a lot with our weight. Especially us ladies. Often it is hormones - some change and the body hang on to water. I know I can get quite bloated sometimes and put on 5 lbs over night. Normal for me. Sometimes we retain water because we ate a lot of salt the day before. Body is a funny thing. It is almost always true that a sudden jump on the scale like that is not due to eating but always due to some water imbalance change. It will flush itself out. Hang in there.

| I know liv and thank you for reminding me. I vowed I wouldn't fall for the old scales thing as they can make you feel miserable which does not help. Truth is as soon as the scale says it then it must be so and I am thinking about all the things it might be. This time however, there was nothing. Any way thank you again for giving me a sane moment. |

| I seem to have settled now and another pound has apparantly gone. I just feel so much better and I cannot stop telling everyone that I am sleeping properly for the first time in years that alone makes me feel ten years younger. |

| Hubby and I were still not losing weight so we look again at what we were eating and it all seemed ok. We are both drinking the required amount of water and have cut out the nuts. I had bought some strawberries which we were having with cream for dessert, I decided that maybe we should knock them on the head too. Then I started thinking about what we are drinking between water and recently I have bought rather a nice coffee machine. I have found some really good ground decaffe coffee in my supermarket and we have been drinking quite a several mugs of that each day which would be ok if we drank it black but of course I was adding cream and although I was watering the single cream down to half and half it was still too much cream. We have now changed our beverage to fruit tea. I have found that ginger and lemon is especially good. So onward we go I have bought some ketostics just to make sure we both go into ketosis. My husband looks well and his clothes are much looser but most importantly his diabetes is being managed so we are happy although seeing the scales being kind to us would be a bonus. |

| Wow What an inspiration you are. Way to go. I am kind of loving cream myself so I can understand how that can get to be a lot. I have been trying decaf green tea with almond milk lately and loving it. |
