What you are eating looks fine, just make sure your veggies add up to the full three cups. This way of eating need not be terribly expensive and you eat much less of the expensive processed junk you used to eat. Tuna (as you have found) chicken and eggs are inexpensive and the mainstays of my day. Minced beef and sausages are less than beef steaks, and many pork cuts are not too dear. I can't say it is an inexpensive way to eat because you are generally buying better fresher food but it is certainly healthier.

Hi Laura, It looks pretty good to me. Planning ahead is a good idea. Just a few things to bear in mind... Make sure that the bacon is 'sugar free' - a lot of them are cured with sugar in one form or another. As Chinadoll says - keep an eye on the veggie amounts. The cherry toms, broccoli and cabbage are all on the 'other veg' list, so make sure that your total amount of the three of them equal no more than one cup (American cup measures - there is a sticky post somewhere on the board that gives the typical 'weight for cup' measures). The other two cups should be from the 'salad' list, so you might want to add some more from that list to that lettuce - unless the three big leaves equal two cups. Is Elmlea 'real' cream? I thought it was a concocted 'creamer' type, with other ingredients, but I may be wrong on that. Check the ingredients - pure real cream is what you want, with no extra ingredients. Remember you can add a knob of butter to those eggs, and fry the chicken in butter/olive oil, and also that you can have the tuna in oil if you want - unless you prefer the one in brine of course. Cheese is limited to 3 - 4 oz a day on induction, which you are 'hitting.' Some people find they need to eat less than that - it varies - it's one of those 'Your Mileage May Vary' things! Good luck with your induction, and well done for planning ahead. CP

Hi Laura, I think regular double cream has less carbs than Elmlea. Just echoing what the others have said about the veg amounts. You can buy American cup measures from the supermarket but in the meantime, think of a teacup size as a measure for lettuce etc. 10 cherry tomatoes seems a lot. I will leave it to the experts to comment further
