| If I'm reading correctly, you're eating 2 burger patties and chicken for lunch? You're eating a large amount of protein and not a veggie in sight! Also, staying at 10 carbs per day instead of 20 isn't going to make the weight come off faster especially if it's not the right carbs. You should read the book and all the induction materials available on this site. The plan works if you follow it. |

| Hi Echo, If you're not eating your veggies, you're not doing Atkins correctly. Here are the guidelines to eating vegetables at each stage of Atkins. Liv gave you some great guidelines to go by. I suggest you read the "Rules of Induction" and "What foods can be eaten during Induction." As you can see, you should be getting the majority of your carbs in by eating veggies from the 2 acceptable veggie list. 2 cups from the salad veggie list and 1 cup from the "other veggie list" or just 3 cups of salad veggies. Rather that protein being your main course at meal time, it's the veggies that are the main course and the protein as a side dish. If you are doing Induction, you need to eat a minimum of 12 NET carbs of veggies each day. If you are in any phase of OWL, you need to eat a minimum of 17 NET carbs of veggies each day. If you are on Maintenance, you need to eat a minimum of 22 NET carbs of veggies each day.

| I have taken the avacado advice the eggs advice and I mentioned I will buy some bok-choy. I've also ordered the book (that is on its way) as I have said, this is atkins is *new* to me. I didn't know I was expected to be perfect at something that is new that I am obviously making adjustments to. I am surprised to hear something unthoughtful and rude coming from a moderator. Maybe my outlook of education and support of this forum was a miss judgement. |

Then when you posted your menu today on the 9th, almost a week later after Liv gave you advice on some really important info. You should of maybe read the info she gave you in those 6 days? I can see how it could be frustrating for someone who just gave you great advice and to see what your menu was today. See where i'm getting at? Did you read the rules of Induction? As well as the Foods Allowed on Induction during those 6 days? If you had, i'm thinking maybe your menu wouldn't of looked like it did today. I think that's where Liv was coming from.(Sorry if i'm speaking out of term Liv). Your menu didn't change after advice was given on how to do it correctly. She's a really nice Moderator that would really like to help you. No disrespect intended. I understand how it is to learn new ways and how it isn't easy to make lifestyle changes. No one expects perfection here. It truly is a learning journey. Heck, i've been doing this for nearly 5 years and i'm still learning. Please keep at it. Once you get the book and read it, it will become much clearer to you on how to do it. Right now just follow the Induction Rules and eat off of the Allowed Food List.
