| So are you doing OK? Are you wondering if you are following the plan correctly. So OWL rung two? How many carbs are you eating now? 5 cups of broccoli - that is your only veggie. Are you measuring raw or cooked? Now broccoli is good stuff but variation brings some more nutrition into your system. The thing that is lacking in your menu is fat - Atkins is a high fat diet and we encourage eating things like chicken skin, oils, mayo and butter. Are you familiar with fitdat (FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal) May of us use it to track our foods. It will tell you how many of your calories are coming from fat - on owl rung 2 anything from 60ish to 70ish % of calories from fat would be good. You're not even close |

| Yeah I've been losing weight but I just want to make sure I'm doing the plan right. I'm eating 30 net grams of carbs. The reason I'm eating so much broccoli is because I just don't really like most vegetables :P I really like green beans but it says I'm not supposed to eat those yet. I'm measuring cooked broccoli. So I should eat more fat? idk it just doesn't seem like it's a good idea, a lot of people in my family have had heart disease and I've read that eating too much fat can increase your chances of getting heart disease. |

| Well Dr.Atkins specialized in cardiology. He was convinced that there is nothing wrong with eating fat and that sugar and starches are really the problem in our diet. So we who follow his plan we eat our fats with good conscience. On the Atkins plan - which is a ketogenic diet (and least for the first part) - fat is necessary to achieve that. There are low carb plans out there that emphasize lower fat - (such as protein power or South Beach) but if you chose to follow one of those you should find out what they think you should eat and follow that. Have you looked at the list of allowed vegetables - there are about 40 there. Have you even tried all of them (I know I havent) Don't cut yourself short. Vegetables are super important - start trying them again. Find new ways to prepare them. Some people over cook everything so they do not even know how vegetables really taste like. | yeah I was started doing South Beach but once I got to phase 2 and started eating bread and fruit again I stopped losing weight, so I decided to try Atkins. I'll try to eat more fat. |

| So did you do Atkins induction? I would do that before jumping to OWL rung two. You probably should try to get into ketosis before moving on and on South Beach you probably were not in ketosis (because you did not have the fat) |
