| Probably just PISS (post induction stall syndrome) The best thing to do is hang in there and keep going as normal. Most people find that the weight start coming off after a little pause. My thoughts are kind of minor things that you may think about *variation in your veggies so you get your nutrition and fibre in. Lettuce is a bit like green water - nothing to it. * Don't undereat. Your portions are small so make sure you do not starve your body here. Feeding helps the process of fat burning going. * Exercise you do not mention any but it helps things. Just some walking and easy lifting of weights (or peach cans) help that metabolism.

| Thanks. I know I have to start exercising. It's just a bit scary at this point. I'm afraid to drop dead from a heart attack or something because I'm so very large. (sheepish grin) I do vary my veggies more than I stated. I just didn't write all of them in. I eat romaine lettuce, so it is a bit better than water, but I do try to eat different ones as well. And undereat? I feel like I'm eating tons (and I can eat tons!). Must be that lovely Atkins' appetite reduction. Thanks so much for your help! No way I'm giving up now.

| As long as you feel satisfied with your meals and do not go around and starve it is OK. I just looked at your portions and I was thinking that I eat more than you do and I am smaller than you at this point. Absolutely if and when you start exercise do start very very carefully. Just like you do with eating you listen to your body. Gentle walking is a good way to get going. I recommend Walking Away the Pounds for a home video. I did that and I loved it. And don't forget water - plenty of it.

| Don't give up! I lost 9 pounds my first month and then nothing during the second month. Then the third month kicked in and my weight loss came back. I've been averaging about 5 pounds a month since. Good luck! |
