| On the bright side, I managed to steer clear of the bread and pita, which comprised 90% of my former diet! I never thought that day would come!

| You probably had too much cheese, but otherwise it looks okay to me (except the balsamic vinegar, which you know of). Are you asking if you ate too much? That only you can know. You should eat until satisfied (not stuffed), and not finish something just because you have more food on the plate or a few more carbs you can eat. But really, looking at your menu, I think you made some great choices at the restaurant. I see your goal weight is 130 lbs, at 5'10". Were you ever 130 lbs as an adult? I'm just worried that your goal could be a little too low and I don't want you to be disappointed if you don't lose as fast as someone who really needs to lose 100 lbs does. Take a look at Mitzi's pictures for example: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...rs/mitzimarie/ She's not as tall as you are (only about 5'3") and she's skinny at 125 lbs! This post might be useful for you: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...580-post1.html And this one: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...al-weight.html (What should my goal weight be?) And this thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...al-weight.html (Choosing a healthy goal weight) A bit off topic. I have a Greek friend who weighs about 350-400 lbs. He's not much taller than I, 2 inches at most... so maybe 5'10". The guy is desperately trying to lose weight (now if I could only convince him to try Atkins...), but his wife keeps telling him he looks fine. Somehow the health aspect is missed. I know Mediterranean food is very healthy in general, but weighing 400 lbs isn't and his wife just doesn't seem to accept this.

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | Thanks Georgiana! I'm still burning, and lost another pound. I knew I shouldn't have ate as much cheese, and salad, but it was so good. I was 130 lbs 2 years ago, and had a bad car accident that left me unable to exercise and on meds that made me gain weight. I was never 'skinny', but definitely thin. I have a curvy build naturally, so although my waist was small, the rest of me had some meat so I will never look skinny. It's sad about your friend. When I started gaining weight my family and mediterranean friends all told me how good I looked! It's preferable to be overweight, or even obese (we say 'healthy', hahaha) than thin and in shape. Maybe his wife is a bit insecure? This also happens in our culture. Sometimes partners get scared if the other starts to look good and gets positive feedback from it. 400 lbs. is a little more than 'healthy'. It sounds like he could be very successful, as although we're a huge bread/rice/potato based culture, all the rest is grilled meats and fresh veggies with little dairy (cheese and yogurt). I was spoiled for choice at the restaurant last night!
