| Oh...also I am not sure if I am in ketosis.....I have some of the symptoms, but the test strips have not been changing color for a while now.....Would my diet seem to support ketosis? Thanks! Kat |

| don't worry about those strips if you are correctly eating your Atkins you are in ketosis after your intial glycogen stores burn off even when the stix don't record a concetration level for you. Your fats are a bit extreame unless you are metabooically resistand 65% of your totasl cals is what youy are stiving for. if you are bored with the foods then it is time to move to OWL and see how those extrea 5 net carbs of those induction veggies effectsd you. Many slow extended inductees actuall lose better in OWL . What you doing for your mandatory exerics part of your Atkins?

| I agree with 2big - if you are getting bored with the food choices you ought to move to OWL. Many people lose more weight in OWL than induction! You could always stay on the veggie rung for several fortnights adding 5 carbs of various veggies to see which you like and can handle if you dont want to move up the rungs immediately. BTW the breakfast patties are very high in salt - here is a link to the nutrition info - http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-001-02s04lt.html

| Hi 2Big, Thanks for checking them out for me. You know I am not sure how metabolically resistant I am...I only know I am losing rather slowly....Since December 14th I have lost 23.5 pounds...I lost about 9 pounds within the first two weeks...which would indicate that I am not extremely resistant...I have looked at the chart on determining metabolic resistance in ADDB, but I am wondering if I am the "exception" lol..... and I am really considering OWL very soon as I have been doing induction since December and it is becoming very old...perhaps I will start on Monday. This is actually the first time I have used anything like fitday...and I did not really even realize how high my fats were....I was not really doing that intentionally...But I think the extra fat was probably helping me stay in induction....since it was the one thing I was not restricting lol.... Now how/why do people with resistance lose better in OWL? Is this explained in ADDB? I will go look right now! Thanks again! Kathleen |

| WOW Elizellen I had no idea morningstar patties had that much salt in them!!!! I can't believe how much sodium is in those things! Thanks for giving me the heads up.....Lately I have been so focused on looking at the carb content of foods and the fat information that I have been virtually ignoring the sodium content and other nutrients lol! Thanks for the heads up! |
